Yeah, I think I'm just going to have to come to terms that I absolutely hate the way most people talk about stuff like this. Like, I get it, geek entertainment from a foreign country is always going to be weird when compared to your own countries' standards that you're used to...but does literally everything have to treated in this overly exaggerated way?

I don't know, I'm just tired. Every discussion always ends up dominated by these type of comments and reactions.

As for "Code Vein", I liked it...but I definitely wish it was less "SoulsBorne" inspired. The progression makes sense though. The same way "SoulsBorne" is essentially a more RPG "Monster Hunter", "Code Vein" is basically Shift's take on turning their "God Eater" franchise into a more RPG experience. Heck, "Code Vein" was basically a spin-off since it takes place in the same world. I just wish Shift focused more on having their own take that played more to their strengths. Though given Bandai Namco was probably breathing down their necks for a replacement at the time, I guess I shouldn't be surprised.

I do wonder what's in store for the Shift staff in the future. The development for "God Eater 3" was handed off to Marvelous and "Code Vein" was their last known project. They've been quiet ever since.

If they do sequels, they should do the Soul Caliber route. Having one character's boobs get bigger with each one.

I liked code vein. What was an awesome seldom mentioned thing is that in NG+ you can opt to just... not increase the difficulty and go through the game as an overpowered mess.

Code Vein is one of those games I paid $60 for and was completely happy with it. I completed the game about five times? And I would absolutely play a sequel. The thing I loved and hated more than enemies around every corner waiting to get a jab out on you is the number of places you could fall and die. Both things I was able to adapt and avoid after enough tries.

Code Vein was so good man. It's like the perfect game to go to after platinum in Dark Souls III.

Code Vein was so fun, it’s probably not in my top 10 fav games but it’s up there for sure. The music was phenomenal and the character creation was incredible. Perfect difficulty too

sick of dark souls gameplay? Nah dude. Clock 100+ hours in all the souls games. Why not try some similar games here and there? I didn't finish code vein, and I may go back to it, but I had a decent time with it when I did play it. Do a good story or whatever you need, but the dark souls style gameplay can stay.

I mean Code Vein is similar to god eater because its in god eater universe xD. Also last i played code vein on new game +8 the AI companion was completely useless, i mean a trash mob one shots them, so its better to go alone. and honestly personally i really enjoyed waifu souls otherwise i would of never reached new game +8

Code Vein is one of the best games that have come out in the last 10 years. Amazing story, writing, characters, lore, visuals, RPG mechanics, action combat, music, and of course the character creation.
It also craps all over the Souls games and Elden Ring in most of these aspects, especially in story, characters, combat, character customization, and RPG mechanics.

Day 50 million of people being mad that code vein wasn't just exactly a copy of dark souls with an anime art style. Therefore, it's trash. It's like that every time a game with similar gameplay releases. 😑

Code veins story was actually not that bad combat felt good and I could swap up my build easy the bosses were very mid though but overall not too bad

Honestly I liked Code Vein, for all of four hours before I realized every enemy has the ability to stunlock or instakill you from bullshit angles and distances.

definitely a good game, and if you are a God Eater fan, then you will get the references and realise that Code Vein is happening in the same world as God Eater :)

I loved this game, unfortunately got a gane crash on the last boss and my save data got corrupted which was very frustrating

Im surprise ho you can get away with almost every mechanic of the game , because i beat the game slow poke with sword , armor upgarde can be ingore entirely if you dont use charge , back stab mechanic

The game is solid. Wished it had more apprais or awaress that it exists. Sometimes it seems it's like invisible. Although the game is made by the same company who made Elden Ring.

The game at a minimum is worth the full play through. The ability to mix and match passive and active skills from different "classes" is pretty good.
