Next time you're in Seattle, I owe you a beer for all the frustration you've saved me.
ОтветитьGreat video, explained well
ОтветитьI have been doing home improvement for 20 years and do quite a few drywall repairs. However i would repair the drywall and my father would tape and spackle because he enjoyed it so much. Now that I don't live near him anymore, I have to fend for myself and I want to get good at it. I think the biggest takeaway I got was that I made the mistake of not mixing the drywall right out of the bucket. I definitely have to have it looser especially for the second coat.
My one question I do have: I did a job of closing in an entry door and had to tie in regular drywall to old school lathe and plaster. Is there any special technique or tape that would get a better finish to tie in the two?
Thanks so much for all these videos!
Is there a reason to use the premix heavyweight vs lightweight? Thanks
ОтветитьWhy isn’t drywall tapered along three edges?
ОтветитьGreat info. Thanks!
Ответитьthank you so much for these instructional videos...I've learned a lot ;-)
ОтветитьVideo 6 months ago on taping and corner bead.Have you ever used aqua bead bead corners.I tried them and like using them.
Ответитьjust love you
ОтветитьYou rock! I've learned a lot. Super helpful!
ОтветитьGREAT VIDEO DUDE!!!
ОтветитьThank you. This is very easy to follow. Finishing an upstairs bathroom in our concrete farmhouse ✌️🇨🇦👍
ОтветитьI'm re-doing a small closet, do I need to "pre-fill" or can I just use tape and joint compund?
ОтветитьI finally understood the proper way!
ОтветитьSo “quick set” is the same thing as “hot mud,” the stuff that comes in a bag that you mix yourself?
ОтветитьLove watching your videos
ОтветитьDo you only use tape with metal for outside corners only? Thanks
ОтветитьWhat a fantastic demonstration on how to do a really accurate and thorough job on installing corner bead. Great job !!!!
ОтветитьThank you
ОтветитьI enjoyed your video! Question, do you add water to the premixed? Your mixture doesn't seem to be as thick. Also, do you have a link for the roller you used in the corner? Thanks!
ОтветитьGreat works real professional I like
ОтветитьOMG, what a great video for beginners !!! Thank you so much for that excellent content. Feel more confident to try this myself this week-end 😅
Cheers from France !
Thanks for these videos. They have been a great help in my remolding. My issues though is with the mud. When I mix a batch for taping, I either have too much water or not enough. My question is, if i mix up my mud and it starts to dry out in my pan, can I add more water or is these batch ruined? Thanks, Barry.
ОтветитьTape everything first then apply mud?
ОтветитьDo you put a first coat overtop freshly laid tape? Would be great to see a video explaining why or why not!
ОтветитьThanks!
Ответить@vancouvercarpenter thank god its not lamb wool....I'm vegan 😂
ОтветитьThank you for the great video. You are a great teacher. It’s really easy to follow you and understand what you are trying to teach. Drywall muddying is not easy and you make it look easy. Thank you again!!
ОтветитьThanks for all the great information on drywall taping..
ОтветитьVery helpful.
Ответитьwell thanks for all the info, but i still fucking hate drywall job 😅🤣
ОтветитьThank you so much for such detailed and well explained videos, much appreciated.
ОтветитьThankyou
ОтветитьI’m using your video now to do my house ceilings! I put insulation up myself and my son put drywall up in one room I’m taping and muddying then paint .. then light fixtures then crown molding baseboards and tiles .. it’s only drywall n muddying I’ve not done 🙏 Florida hurricane and insurance didn’t cover enough for the high contractor price gouging! That’s our issue in Florida .. knowing what supplies cost contractors are charging x4 with a huge upfront check … sad this is happening 14 months later! But thank you!!
ОтветитьTips I learned from a 30 year mudder. Expect 2-3 applications to finish, throw your paper tape cut to length in a bucket of water and finger squeegee the excess off when doing long runs, and use a damp sanding block to sand. The dust picks up the moisture and drops straight down instead of airborne.
ОтветитьHey man thanks for all the time you have taken to do all of your vids. You gave me the nuts to do things I always paid subs to do. I have made like 10k in last 6 weeks just taking on drywall jobs. I'm actually pretty decent already. Thank you man!
ОтветитьStill not sure how to get a clear even corner
ОтветитьDurabond 90 does not seem like a product we should use
Ответитьrespect for putting in a v cut where the drywall was tight so the prefill actually does something. a lot of guy's wouldn't take the time to even learn why it's done, let alone do it. i do the same and prefill with durabond then put on tape with regular mud after it sets. learned from my pops. and i've been saying this for years, fiber tape is the devil. so is sheetrock or durabond for anything but prefill and 1st coat on beads lol.
ОтветитьHow many coats for new drywall?
ОтветитьYa know this guy is good. I have done some mudding, and you put a lot of time in it to make it looklike glass. Then you primer and paint and all the fine work is covered up by paint slops and smears and runs :)
Ответитьwhat a butchered drywall job, who did that?
ОтветитьGreat video👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Ответитьnice very informative tutorial! nice one buddy
ОтветитьDamn this dude is good very entertaining,
ОтветитьThank you soooo much. So helpful, straight to the point. Love it
ОтветитьWhata the shortest buttjoint piece you could get away without taping?
ОтветитьVery valuable information. Thank you!
ОтветитьWe use to call what you call flats the seams flat ..butte flats etc ….and shortened to seams or buttes …. Then again i stopped taping in 1990 😜and things change
