Would love to hear your thoughts on if this was a mistake or not.
ОтветитьI definitely think A24 could pull it off. I don’t think they’d deep dive on him, but I do think they’d make him a little more supernatural, which I wouldn’t be opposed to. It all depends on who’s ideas make it to the script.
ОтветитьThat padlock is too high up. They had to take Julia up on the hoist to where’s she’s hovering over the glass box. Cutter can’t reach that. And even if he could somehow be tall enough to stand on his tippy toes to unlock it, she’s under the water, he’s not going to be able to climb up there and pull her out. So the quickest thing he could do to get to her was break the box with an axe.
ОтветитьBut why Borden kill her?? I can't understand
ОтветитьCutter cuts
ОтветитьActually it was not to keep a secret, unlocking the lock wouldn't have saved her life because someone would have to climb, take her out! This would have taken longer than breaking the glass with axe! So, not all Fan theories are senseful!
He was actually trying the best to save the girl without thinking about the secret!
Just after that he said that the padlock had been replaced with a real lock. SOOOOOO YEAHH
ОтветитьIn a time where people actually believed in magic you would understand gravity of the reveal, they would seem like a charlatan and could be career ruining. But its insane that they risked one of their peoples life for it.
ОтветитьFrom which angle did you said this a mistake. It's a courage of cutter that he doesn't care about life he cared about his trick that's the punchline
"The secret impresses no one,
The trick you use for it is everything."
this is like a kid who thinks he knows a magic telling a magician he sucks at magic. your wrong btw.
Ответитьhe is not 10 feet tall
ОтветитьIf he unlocked the padlock then it would've taken them a lot of time to get her out as Julia's hand were tied and eventually she would've died. Stupid.
ОтветитьDude you need to watch the movie again…
ОтветитьSee, sacrifice, That's the price of a good trick. But you wouldn't know anything about that, would you?
Ответитьis a different box, the trial is about Borden being blamed for the death of Angier, is not an investigation about Angier's wife that die earlier in the film.
ОтветитьNo.... he said that the padlock was replaced with the real one. Also, remember, this was a way to handle his clones. The magician shares the the same memories with his clones. The clones would know how the trick is done.
ОтветитьHe was only supposed to blow the bloody doors off!
ОтветитьUnderrated, but one of the top 10 movies O ever watched.
ОтветитьIt's a cheep analysis not acceptable
ОтветитьMaybe it was fixed later on after the incident?
ОтветитьIs not a mistake... is part of the magic. Never reveal the secret... never...
ОтветитьThen it's not a mistake
ОтветитьMaybe if you see someone dying, you gonna climb and pull out the lock or just beat the glass with anxiety....
ОтветитьHm. Not explaining a trick to the audience even when your life at risk. That's the best idea I've ever heard from magicians. I could nothing going wrong
Ответитьthe pad lock opens the top. The cabinet is too tall to be able to retrieve the woman quickly without a ladder. Plus Its more dramatic to smash the glass and this a movie.
ОтветитьI assumed he choose to smash the glass because the old man didn't want to risk losing his illusions value. Had the public seen the safety trick it would have got around and been worthless.
Ответитьshe died from a 2 minute drowning! fuck that!
ОтветитьHe was un aliving His former self after the machine produced a duplicate. Messed up this movie
ОтветитьNo it was secrets man Angier already shows he has an obsession first sacrifice was his wife but it made him even more obsessed and was willing to even take the other guys daughter away
ОтветитьThat's a stretch. It's faster to smash the glass than it is to fumble with the lock, open the lid and pull her out.
ОтветитьI think it was a mistake by Nolan, they were all there “helplessly” watching Julia drown. They all would have known the trick inside and out and they would have chosen to save her if they “could”. If they were trying to preserve the trick, Angier would have no right to blame anyone but himself. This scenario would somewhat defeat the plot of the movie and Angier’s primary motivator to beat out Borden. Henceforth, it must be a(n) simple error by the director.
Wow, 'never reveal the secret even if it costs someones life'
ОтветитьOr maybe Cutter just loves adventures
ОтветитьDamn, Nolan might've deliberately done this. He will have some kind of theory about this for sure
