A NOTE FROM THE HOST:
Hi everyone,
As mentioned in the introduction, throughout this episode we discuss topics and stories that may be difficult to listen to, especially for those who are on a healing journey of their own. These topics include drug abuse, alcohol use disorder, eating disorders, and sexual trauma.
We are not professionals, therapists, or doctors. We are just humans trying to figure out the world, by figuring out ourselves.
If you are in need of immediate help, please contact a professional at the resources below.
If you’d like to reach out to discuss how to leverage these resources, or begin a healing journey of your own, please feel free to contact me directly at christopher(at) thehealingproject(dot)io, or on Instagram @peopletalkingsittingdown.
You are not alone.
With love and appreciation,
Christopher
MEET JACK:
Jack is my cousin, my friend, and someone I look up to immensely.
At a young age, he internalized the pain he felt and like many, turned to drugs and alcohol to cope.
Sometimes searching to feel nothing, sometimes searching to feel something.
In Jack’s own words, he hated the man he saw in the mirror.
These days, things are different.
Through hard work, determination, introspection, and patience, he has turned his life around.
While Jack’s journey is not over, the path he has taken has allowed him to not only help himself, but help others. Especially me.
There’s nothing quite like the “Yeow brotha!” that I hear when he picks up the phone.
It brightens up my day immediately, and I hope this conversation will brighten up yours too.
THANK YOU FOR LISTENING!
