I used to be friends with a guy who mods Sennheiser headphones.
He gave me a look of disgust and literally asked me how I could be satisfied with my "trash IEMs".
He then proceeded to throw my IEMs on my table like it had aids on it.
I used a pair of Shure 425s btw. I know they aren't the best, but they were perfectly fine for me.

I wonder what Dankpods would think of Remax Pure Music, they really just look like generic showerhead kind of earphones and I made two of them broken but I think the sound is great.. but I don't know what "great" sound sounds like, alot of import stuff is expensive, even the earphones itself costs 200 (which is NOTHING in americons, lol) and I wonder if there is any other alternative that sounds better in the same price range

Just got my DT 770 Pro 80 Ohm. The bass quality is quite the difference. I can't say they blew me away by sound but they are def quality product. I probably would need some very expensive stuff to notice crazy diffrence. I had SuperLux HD681's they are open back pretty good sound just horrible comport. The DT 770's are heaven compared to that cheap junk build quality. Would've liked to have removable cable but other than that they are great hope they last me long time.

Elitism is everywhere, people! Just because they neck deep in the stuff doesn't mean they are also best at answering every question! The more passionate you are about something, the more you specialize, too, as you find a deeper passion within a passion within a passion etc etc. hence why some focus on different aspects of a hobby/job. As always, ask a professional/expert/maniac in that specific aspect.
But passionate people won't hold back sharing that passion! People love introducing others to their little worlds and corners of the planet so always do a lil research, as more often than not, your question that is fairly easy to think about is on a FAQ or a pinned post somewhere a click away.

Cables are great for your desk or a plane but as soon as you want to move around they will just get ripped out of your ear

Tried grado sr60e's, the drivers started clicking and then the entire thing fell apart in under 3 months. Sounded great before it demonstrated its cost cutting efforts.

Have ears, that reject ALL in-and on-ears with annoying pain (I actually got my ear scanned and got plugs fitted to my ear. Didn't work).
Thusly be only able to wear over-ears.

as someone who is just getting into the headphone thing, cause i wanted a good headphones. I finally got what he meant by sparkly lmfao, the bass is really there on the sennheiser hd600 with the deep thunk, and the bass on the grado is well "thin". its like listening to a bottom part of the ear, then switches to the top part of the ear lmfao. might just be my crappy earphone as well

Pretty much all I did to enter the hobby is go the big mile, and just picked up a pair of K712s with only a little research, no joke best headphones I've ever owned and since I had an old pioneer amp, that worked fine, not to mention they still sound good out of my macbook or main PC, my only pair I own that even comes close to my K712s is my DS502s.

Literally people hate me for preferring Intel PC parts, and it’s because before I’d get barked at and people would insult me for not liking AMD.
I hate bad experiences with AMD stuff being unstable, and others share that same sentiment. I’d go for their GPUs (maybe) but only if they make the ray tracing better, cuz Nvidia does it perfectly. Like a 3050 can do most games On medium or high all settings, ray tracing medium, at 1080p 60fps, but something like the RX6600 (which is the better competitor to the 3050) can’t even do low settings at 60fps, meaning you’ll be forced to do 30fps which isn’t great for something that COSTS MORE. And then the tensor cores give you more frames if you want to even turn on that option… it’s great.
Like I wanna see their next RX7500 push out 720p 60fps with ray tracing on medium, and that’s a low spec card that costs 200 freedom eagles lol.

Its hard to look up the best amps because uou get a million different answers and then some people will say the amps people said were bad

Meanwhile you could be considered hardcore cuz you want those headsets to be more than just “for audio” but are also helpful to others!
They wanna be for audio, AND little things, like being comfortable, and having added accessories to add to the experience, like alternate headphone cable replacements like 2.4 balanced (or whatever size that is) or a case.

I just wanna point out: My Grados shipped with a pressed earmuff. Still hasn't been replaced and makes using them extremely uncomfortable. Hoewever, it's not too expensive to replace.

I’ve been into music my whole life but never really got into investing in equipment to best enjoy it until 15 years or so ago, when I bought my Grado SR325i’s. For someone playing out of crappy speakers or cheap pc gaming headsets (because that was all my meagre income could support, even at 28, because shit jobs pay shit money), it was a revelation.

I’m still working shit jobs because they are a trap designed to destroy you, but have a bit more disposable income and since having had discovered this channel and Crinacle, have started buying more audio gear. Currently I have the Meze 99’s, a pair of hard to find Sony IEM’s (which I actually bought 6 years ago and completely forgot about because I didn’t have any equipment that had balanced out at the time so I shoved them in a drawer and moved on), and a pair of boutique hand made headphones, the Erzetich Thalia’s, and I’m playing everything through an Astell & Kern SR25 MkII DAP, and I couldn’t be happier with what each thing brings to the table.

I have a notepad filled with more things I want to buy, including IEM’s, cans and amps, and I’m genuinely excited to get as many as I can. I doubt I’ll ever get something super high end (and who wouldn’t want to own the HiFiMan Susvara’s?), but for my budget, I’m happier than a pig in shit.

And that leads me to your point concerning toxic communities, it’s why I generally don’t involve myself in them any more after being on the internet for about 30 years. I’ve been a gamer my whole life, and having a passion and interacting with other people can just have your enthusiasm beaten out of you. Yes I know a PC is more powerful than a console. I don’t care, I can’t afford to build one right now. My series x is great, and snobbery is repulsive.

And the same goes for the audio community. I want to talk audio without someone with hundreds of thousands of pounds in audio gear tell me my gear is shit. I realise that I too am in a privileged position to even be able to afford what I buy when there are others who wish they could but stick to the £20 IEM’s that they can afford, but I would never insult them for it. I want to encourage others, support them and celebrate that they can enjoy their hobbies at whatever level they can. The internet has turned me away from even trying.

Anyway, love the channel, and thanks for being a positive voice in a community. God knows people need them.
