Brugge remains one of the best preserved examples of a medieval European settlement. What are your thoughts on this unique city?
ОтветитьLol This is the city live in
Ответитьfew points
1, this city was in it's heyday on a level comparable to London, Paris, Dresden,... so whilst it is perhaps the best preserved medieval city in northern europe it represents a window into a major medieval city
it did fall on harder times during the early modern age, losing it's rights in favor of Antwerp after revolting against Maximilian von habsburg, however it remained significant in it's own right, it did mean that buildings that may otherwise have been torn down and replaced were left intact
even Bruges has not survived fully unscaved but it is a must see,
I'm proud being from Bruges.
ОтветитьI'm here now on my 4th trip. I love this place!

Ответить“Short drive from nearby Brussels.” I think americans would describe every city in Belgium a short drive from Brussels. We Belgians call that a long drive.
