Great video! How can I get the same bass sound as the Beatles got in the White Album - I'm thinking in particular Glass Onion. I have the same bass, a Fender VI. It would be great to get that same sound in Garage Band. Thanks for the very valuable work that you do.
ОтветитьGod Bless! what a great video! so many thanks for sharing!
ОтветитьWhy is it that when recording a guitar, the original signal from the guitar can still be heard? even though I already use a virtual amp. so I couldn't clearly hear the processed audio output from the virtual amp
ОтветитьGreat video/lesson! Appreciate it! Maybe you can demonstrate how to add a backing track from you tube to garage band to play along with and record a bass part over. I’m not even sure it’s possible but it seems like it should be. Thanks!
ОтветитьGreat content! It’s the small details that make all the difference.
ОтветитьThanks!!
Ответитьthanks man. coming from ipad here. hella confused about everything on the actual computer version. I was trying to record bass today and the sound of my bass starts strong and then slowly gets quieter and quieter. gonna follow this step for step. thanks dude!
ОтветитьThis was very helpful information on using the Peak/VU meter and amp sims. My bass rig is a Mesa WD-800 and 212 cab, and I use my Behringer XR18 as my recording interface. I typically record on 2 tracks simultaneously; one track is a Shure Beta 52a micing the cab, and the second is a DI from my amp head. This allows me to record the tone of my amp as it is in a live setting, and also allows me to use my pedalboard. Once recorded, I can then balance the mix of the DI and Mic tracks.
After watching this video I’m going to download that Peak/VU meter and will use that on all my recordings going forward. I will also record a third track by sending a clean signal (pre pedalboard) to another channel in my interface. Then I can experiment with the bass amp simulator and effect on the clean signal. I’m very interested to hear how they sound.
Thanks again for this video!
The drums sound great. How did you get that?
ОтветитьSuperb! Well explained and expertly presented, loving this series. 'Punch in' didn't know you could do that! 😐I'm having big problems with latency, any advice on how I get rid of that on my iMAC?
ОтветитьWhen recording bass, I can't get the Peak and VU to match up the way you do. I can't get it past -10 on the Peak without the VU pushing the needle to the max.
ОтветитьHi there! I've looked everywhere to find a plug-in that would help me to create a portamento/glissando/slide/glide effect on the software bass guitar track. No luck so far. Do you have any recommendation? I'm sorry if this seems like a stupid question, but it seems rather hard to find a solution. Thanks.
ОтветитьSuch a fantastic and helpful tutorial. Thank you
ОтветитьLast week I bought a cheap Squier Precision and put a pickup upgrade in it and it was the best and easiest bass recording ever. Eight other higher end basses, and I struggled to get a decent mix. A passive Precision (which I normally hate) works perfect. I see why engineers demand them.
ОтветитьThis was very helpful. 😊🎸
ОтветитьLots of good tips. I’ve never been happy with the tone of my bass recordings. I’ll try all your pointers on my electric bass. I actually use a mic to record my upright bass, so I’ll work in some of your techniques here as well. Many Thanks
ОтветитьLearned a very cool tip on punch-ins that I wasn't using. Thanks for that!
ОтветитьGreat tutorial Colin! Thanks
ОтветитьEven though I use GB on iOS I am loving the content. The DAW might be different but the principles transfer
ОтветитьI always just went to the presets. I guess I was scared to try anything else. Your lessons give me the courage to try. Thanks my friend.
ОтветитьGreat video.....learned a lot.....editting that way....Di info. ...perfect..thanks
ОтветитьI find the emulation of the classic Ampeg SVT is great. I personally like using it with the 8 x 10" cabinet.
ОтветитьThis is exactly what I needed! I just got a new Jackson bass I haven't even plugged in yet 🙃 🙌
ОтветитьI was waiting for this video, refreshing for hours!
ОтветитьThank you very much! I have always struggled with finding the best settings for recording bass. Your break down was clear to understand and efficient. I will learn much from your tutorial. Once again thanks for your much appreciated help.
ОтветитьI was following along. hanging on every word and then the golden thing happen. You used a plug that requires additional downloading and the link is not available in the description. I will have to return to this and replay video once I find this VU meter plug in. Cheers
