What mistakes did you make when you first started cycling?
ОтветитьI am a complete newcomer to road biking but I have ridden since I was a kid. I recently purchased a used road bike with clipless pedals. Yes I fell over 3 times before purchasing a new set of shimano clipless pedals designed with lighter spring tension for new riders. I really enjoy the ride now!
Ответитьlove this :)😍
ОтветитьThat last shot freaked me out. One person leaning back too much and you are all goners!
ОтветитьOh that voice ... back to the kitchen woman ...
ОтветитьPlease tell me someone what the point of clipless pedals? The ones where your clipped into the pedal. I’m a week old newbie.
ОтветитьAhhh - Over estimating your fitness - been there, done that, got the T shirt and did it again 😂😂
ОтветитьI feel safe when my saddle is low enough to let me land foot directly on the ground without jumping out my saddle or tilt my bike
ОтветитьNice video. One thing I learnt is, plan how long would you like to ride the Bicycle and do a proper warm up like for every other exercise for few Kilometers. I do it like 17km on a Mountain Bike on hard trail everyday, so I take it really easy for first 5KMs per se. So proper warm up will give more energy to get going longer. So dont rush it!
ОтветитьAs someone who is exploring the hobby - I have to ask as this is the second or third GCN video I’ve seen that recommends carrying a pump, intertube, and snacks yet I don’t see any storage space anywhere. Where am I supposed to carry an intertube??
Ответитьdon't ride at night or bring good lighting.
ОтветитьNot wearing knee and elbow pads when riding clipless for the first time.
ОтветитьThey didn’t really explain the point about saddles
ОтветитьAlways use a saddle with a cut out. Selle SMP is a great choice but there are others. Make sure your sit bones contact the saddle in a way that is noticeable way when you ride.
ОтветитьI bought a new bike for the first time time since college. I did two laps around my block, and then I threw up, lol
ОтветитьThe worst mistakes are misjudging trafic and crash. Big Lorrys might not se you when they turn. The old lady with the dog, and the dog moves, tha band stretches....Do not take risks in trafic.
ОтветитьI've fell numerous of times trying to clip out!!
ОтветитьUse a minimalist bike saddle he says , but does not mention the 6 inches of padding round his a&b's.
ОтветитьWish it had an outside indicator for when full
ОтветитьYeah, I don't think anyone needs special shies for riding a bike
ОтветитьI don't think ive ever had a tailwind.. every direction I turn , is turning into a wind
Ответить#1 sell your roadbike and get a mountain bike instead.
ОтветитьCan i have your helmet and shade.joking
ОтветитьIs it really that someone wear the helmet wrong way? On mine!!!!
Ответитьis this gravel bike?
ОтветитьJust got a bike with clipless pedals and I did fall. I had my dominate foot unclipped but am use to getting off with the nondominate foot. And it remained clip
Ответить#10. Don’t take yourself too seriously. You’re gonna screw things up. Eventually, you’ll be hitting your stride with no issues.
ОтветитьWqht ia perfect saddle height
ОтветитьThank you guys 😊
ОтветитьI live in the Netherlands. It doesn't matter what direction you go, whatever time of day, whatever time of year....EVERY ride there is a headwind.
ОтветитьDon't look at a black cat when it crosses your way.
ОтветитьCan a hybrid cyclist join a road cyclist or is there no competition and oldest not to?
ОтветитьI wonder whether they drew lots for demonstrating the silliest stuff, like falling on the side due to failing to unclip, or wearing the helmet backwards.
ОтветитьWearing Lycra when I have 60 pounds to lose!!
ОтветитьTip ten…
ОтветитьVery similar to running, especially trail running.
ОтветитьNovice question here, why on earth would you want your shoes attached to the pedals?
Ответитьthank you. I have just started my journey and your tips are very valuable
ОтветитьSure I'll just tell the wind to follow my route.
ОтветитьLmao do people really ride with the helmet backwards I’ve never seen that but would have to laugh
ОтветитьJust buy a bike insurance for 40euro's a year if you have a puncture you call and 10-40min later they 're there. Much easier imo.
Also always do a bikefitting you won't regret it! Here it's 125euro but it's not only the bike and cleats that's good then. It's a full body screening and seeking the perfect position and also giving great advise if you for example want to lose weight and have a target set. And especially if that guy where you do the bikefitting works for Bora-Hanshrohe.😉
And ride al least 2 times a week on a normal tempo and 2 days a week until you say fuck this do high intensity training so the kg's fly off. Well with me they fly off. But I have a great small tour from only 1,5km with 400m flat, 750m flat and 350m steep uphill and I mean like average 12% while the first 100m is 14%. So very good for intervals. If you ride this like 25-30 times and you go home believe me you see black ⚫ before your eyes.
Also go the for me then the Ardennes and ride some climbs. Go back every 2 weeks and see your progress on the hills. Afther a couple off months you will see a huge difference allready. And buy a bike with at least an 105 7000 groupset. Price/quality it's the best imo.
Why did 'obliged' become 'obligated'? 🤔
ОтветитьFirst time in a group with clipless I fell off and broke my arm🤟I’d practised loads
ОтветитьHow about flirting with any female cyclists you see? Is that OK?
ОтветитьGreat reminders even though I've been cycling for years. Great humor of what NOT to do.
ОтветитьI just got back into cycling, not ridden since the late 90's. I am slowly trying to build up my stamina and endurance, just difficult, every where is hilly, where I live. small steps.
