Great list, I would’ve removed the Italian Job or Ronin and put in the Aaron Paul need for speed, that movie had almost no CGI, and had some great race scenes, but that’s me.
ОтветитьThe original Gone in 60 Seconds is SO much better than the remake.
ОтветитьThink this list could have been more like 25. Definetly some noteworthy ones missing named in comments. Also think Dazed and Confused atleast needs metioned. While not a car movie ton of great cars, cruising and couple drags.
ОтветитьPlease bring the history of the hulk car of the tokyo drift twink.😮
ОтветитьI agree with this list. I do wish two lane blacktop was on it, but that's mostly cuz I think the 55 from American graffitis looks better in two lane black top
ОтветитьWhat about gumball rally?
ОтветитьI would add Need for Speed for fun! It practically follows the game, you build your car (Gran Torino), get a better car (Mustang GT500) and then get an Exotic (Dinos Koenigsegg)
ОтветитьCurious where Drive or the Driver with Ryan oNeale would fall on your list
ОтветитьMost of my favorite car movies are also guilty pleasures: b-grade, drive-in movie stuff. Like Hot Rod 1979 (AKA Rebel of the Road). Totally goofy plot but when they pull that primer gray Willys out of the shed to put a Hemi in it...!!! Return to Macon County. Laughable mistakes (like claiming they just clocked their street-driven '57 Chevy at 7.5 seconds in the quarter mile!) but fun to watch for the cars. The California Kid. An ABC TV Movie of the Week with a young Martin Sheen driving the most beautiful black and flames '34 Ford coupe ever built. The Hi-Riders. See muscle cars in their natural habitat, not as some restored-to-stock gold-chainers status symbol! None of these are great cinema, but they do have some great cars.
ОтветитьJackie Chan - Thunderbolt should've been on this list. The Fast and the Furious before FNF became a thing. JDM cars, street racing, action, fighting, stunts, track racing. It's hard to choose my absolute favorite car movie. I'll just list them in no order. FNF1-4, Thunderbolt.
ОтветитьNo Mans Land never gets a mention but gave the storyline to Fast and Furious
ОтветитьUsed cars
ОтветитьYep, owning a new Corvette, Ferrari, or Lambo in 2023 is one thing. Owning a 1980 pace car Turbo Trans - Am in its day, was quite another thing lol Smokey & the Bandit for the win.
ОтветитьFord V Ferrari is my all time favorite car movie 1000%
ОтветитьYou forgot Need For Speed the movie
ОтветитьForza & GTA style
ОтветитьRush was a great movie
Driven isn’t as bad as ppl say it is. Still very cringe at points. But Burt was such a good bad guy! He stole the show.
Days of Thunder was the greatest car movie of all time.
No contest.
Rush, Talladega Nights and F&F 1-3 were awesome too.
Great list, Wraith and the Original Gone in 60 Seconds is up there too. And the is an Old New Zealand made movie from back in the 80s called 'Goodbye Pork Pie', based around a Stolen Mini Cooper that they drive from one end of the country to the other while on the run. Its a great watch if you havnt seen it.
ОтветитьGumball Rally is way underrated as a car movie.
ОтветитьYou forgot Gumball Rally
ОтветитьYou forgot Baby Driver. The movie sees the protagonist drive a multitude of cars in action scenes that are made even cooler with how the movie handles the element of music. If you still have doubts, take a few minutes and watch the opening chase scene. Coolest opener I've ever seen in a movie.
ОтветитьMaybe not a top 15 car movie , but White Lightning was a worthy precursor to Smokey and the Bandit.
ОтветитьDeathproof. And Menace II Society is a low key car movie also.
ОтветитьCrazy Larry and dirty Mary had good scenes with the Impala, and later with the Charger !
ОтветитьWhere's Jackie Chan Mitsubishi
ОтветитьFast and Furious Tokyo Drift tho❤ such a great movie
Ответитьinitial D anyone??
Ответитьnice
ОтветитьMy favorite is always going to be The Fast and The Furious, i was 6 years old at the time and really getting into cars. It was the perfect storm lol
ОтветитьI believe one movie missing here... Rat Race. There are no rules.
ОтветитьKirby the love bug #1
ОтветитьLove the list my friend but you need to watch DRIVE its amazing with Ryan Gosling! It deserves to be on this list
ОтветитьDazed and Confused for an Honorable mention
ОтветитьCannonball Run!
ОтветитьI just realized the bad guy in The Transporter is Vince from F&F
Ответитьa couple other good car movies are Need for Speed and the new Gran Turismo movie. Need for Speed isn't a great film, but you get to see lots of great Koenigsegg footage. And Gran Turismo was way better than I expected. Great car scenes and they worked hard to make it feel real.
ОтветитьDirty Mary Crazy Larry, Vanishing Point, Two Lane Blacktop, Phantasm and even Thunderbolt and Lightfoot had some good car scenes in it.
Ответитьi am not worthy on top 5... thanks for forgiving me... "Cannonball 3000"!
Ответитьvanishing point and the original Gone in 60 seconds I have to mention.
ОтветитьGreat List, but for me, and maybe because I'm younger than you Chris. Ford v Ferrari is my number one.
ОтветитьNo two lane blacktop? You can't mention American graffiti without mentioning two lane blacktop. Come on man. Amateur hour.
ОтветитьLeMans with the king of cool McQueen. I had the opportunity to meet Brian Redman who drove the #20 Gulf Porsche, with Jo siffert. Brian was kind enough to take time to speak to my family, about the 1970 race at spa francorchamps where he and siffert won it in the rain, and also autographed my racing helmet. A true gentleman.
ОтветитьNo Duel? No original Gone in 60 Sec?
ОтветитьVanishing Point and the original Gone in 60 Seconds deserve an honorable mention.
Ответитьdo you guys remember a young tyne daily playing a car thief in a movie she had an electronic gizmo cant thinkof what it were called
ОтветитьHot take, Pixar's Cars is better than several featured on this list
ОтветитьWhat’s the first talking cars in live action on movie tv in the world?
ОтветитьOK, mostly I agree but you missed one of the most gorgeous musclecars of all time (and the #1 car on my wishlist): The '72 Cuda in 'Phantasm'. The car wasn't a highlight but every scene that had the car in it made you sit up and take notice. OH and one other... The Wraith with the Chrysler PPG Pacecar... Actually a pretty good road race car movie with some decent street race cars.
ОтветитьThe GUMBALL RALLY is the Greatest Car Movie of all time. And ad to the List. Crazy Larry Dirty Mary, Italian Job Remake, Two Lane Blacktop, No Mans Land, and Tokyo Drift...
