I always thought it would make a great motorcycle engine.
ОтветитьSir I would like to see rotary engine to come back do you know from where I am supporting were 80% people doesn't know that rotary IC engine does exist yes you guessed it right I am from India.
ОтветитьDivert the unburnt gases into a turbine with vectored nozzles to create down force and/ or a forced induction system, tesla valves to eliminate moving parts, just a thought....
ОтветитьThat is a design invented by the 'LiquidPiston' company engineers. I hope Mazda a paying to use their patent. It is SO much better than the Wankel design!
ОтветитьVery bad video, a lot of information and images that change in a second of time as if it were a music video, so you can't follow the content normally. Moreover, the video should be aimed at the average audience, and this one seems to be made for engineers.
Ответитьlike
ОтветитьOne one engine design looks to an American prototype and the other the Mazda design. The American one is a better design from what I understand.
ОтветитьIf I could afford one within the next 20 years, sure, I'd love it.
But I don't make $80,000 a year, so. . . .
Scotty has been bought
Ответитьanyone going for a wankel this morning
ОтветитьI had a 79 Rx7 and man i loved that thing. For some reason it burned a hole through exhust manifold. I wasn't able to find anyone to change out the manifold so it had to go.
ОтветитьIf they can fix the design and efficiency, it will be revolutionary.
ОтветитьLoved my RX-7.
ОтветитьI would love to see a Wankel tested with Nanosecond Pulsed Power Plasma (N3P) technology. In addition, I would love to see the engine tested with ammonia, ammonia/hydrogen, ammonia with ~ 19 percent Dimethyl ether (DME), & Dimethyl Ether (DME) at constant speed as a range extender. With and without Nanosecond Pulsed Power Plasma (N3P) technology. Lastly, tested with variations of E85, 100 Methanol as well as gasoline mixed at different percentages. I bet we would all be impressed with the some of the different scenarios.
ОтветитьWankel is pronounced as Vankel (with a V, like Volt not like War).
ОтветитьMaybe Mazda will put one into the Eunos Roadster? Zoom zoom!
ОтветитьThanks Scotty 👍 I love my Toyota Tundra crewmax limited 💪 on my way to the million miles Tundra club 🎷
ОтветитьOh no! EV cars are doomed! (Not really)
ОтветитьNow show us how to make the russians 5 edged rotary reliable...
ОтветитьImproved tech is always welcome in my book.
Ответить23 y/o in 1929: I will create an engine.
33 y/o today: i am offended because you misinterpreted the 7th of my genders.
Rotary engines are reliable if you look after them, majority of people don't. The engine fires every stroke, its an engine for sports cars, not everyday driving. Personally i blame buyers for not knowing what they are buying
Oh and they run great on hydrogen and unlike petrol don't wash out the oil.
It is interesting to see that you include pictures of the Liquid Piston rotary engine. That's a different company.
ОтветитьDefinitely like to see it come back
ОтветитьI’m excited and not. I was a rotary-tard for almost two decades. The rotary life is a hard life. It’s like being in a bad relationship. She spends all your money, constantly frustrates you, and your friends constantly ask why you stay with her.
You stay with her because the good times are great (PG way of putting it 😉)
I’d love to see a new rotary and I’d remember the times but it’s not worth it 😞
Besides I’ve learned to love torque 🤷🏻 lol.
I own 2006 Mazda RX-8 with 84k miles and I have been in and out of performance for a while but, out of all the engines the Rotory engine is a simple design and easy to work on. I live in the desert and it gets hot here. I used to have over heating problems with my engine until I solved it with a low temperature thermostat. Now I have 0 issues of overheating in summer. I would love to see Rotory make a comeback!
ОтветитьIt seems that the liquid piston engine has a better chance to make into production than a traditional Wankel engine. On paper, it seems to work better.
ОтветитьUsed to have an RX7. It was a blast to drive. Wish I'd never sold it.
ОтветитьI would like see it return and improved
ОтветитьChevrolets flagship is Corvette, Ford has mustang, Dodge the hemi , mazda the rotary..
ОтветитьGood video. But, I don't see how this 'shocks' the car industry.
Is the car industry really that fragile ?
To me the single biggest issue is that it was a 'total oil loss' system. If I understand scotty correctly they may have addressed that ?
Scotty - if your aim is to confuse the viewer - you've done a great job mate.
ОтветитьWhat about the " Liquid piston" - or inverse Wankel engine? Is anyone working to prefect this one?
Ответитьwankle unreliability is one of the 3 biggest myths in the motoring world
ОтветитьE-85 is not a solution - Ethanol produces just as much carbon buildup as gasoline.
Ответитьso where is the engine? all I saw was 3d models
ОтветитьIs rotary engine technicaly ⅓ stroke engine
ОтветитьWow. Great video!
ОтветитьUmm... that cooling analogy is a little off... typical amongst larger motor water craft it uses said water for cooling.
ОтветитьBest video from Scotty
ОтветитьNo wonders the rx7 and 8s are going for so cheap. And here I was thinking Im going to get one
Ответитьyep bring it back
ОтветитьSeems like an air compressor filled with gasoline!
ОтветитьOf course I'd like to see it. But the problems are very hard to solve, especially the seals.
ОтветитьYes i would buy an RX9 rotary if one was ever made to comply with euro6 emmisions as i live in EU
Ответить
