Good stuff Jens. What I will say is, nothing beats doing your AST1 course. Getting hands on and used to your equipment before heading out is very important. Having the equipment is useless without knowing how to use it. Understanding your transceiver is especially important.Just to add, skiing down after your tour should be planned and methodical. Rarely do you ski down together. I hope people read this comment.
ОтветитьIf you are alone in the mountains you probs will die sooner or later. More like being in the team of 3-4 if you are pro, or 8-9 if you are enthusiast\amateurs.
ОтветитьGreat content! Thanks!
ОтветитьThis guy with mastash is rad skier ha!?
ОтветитьGreat tutorial, it's easy and fun to watch. You're my Sking guru Dave. Thankyou!
ОтветитьClass channel! Thank you.
ОтветитьSound tips, great tutorial and very well presented. Would love to see more on equipment, more precise clothing, materials, layering, being prepared for temperature extremes and what to wear/what to pack …cool stuff 🤘

Ответитьc’est genial
ОтветитьWhat touring skis would you advise to buy? Will be my first touring season. I would like a balance between being light but very good for downhill ski.
ОтветитьCouple of questions :)
Is skin re-usable?
Are those skis while going down are as comfortable/give same feeling as regular downhill skis?
Thanks!
Thanks guys!
ОтветитьI went ski touring for the first time last weekend and I absolutely loved it!
However, I had an issue making turns with my feet at 180 degrees due to my in-turned feet or rather internal tibial torsion. I was told I will struggle to do ski touring because of this. I cannot change it (I've tried, a lot), so I was wondering if it's absolutely necessary. Is there a way to make turns without such a drastic turning of the feet?
Excellent video as always. Really solid and unpretentious. Thank you. If you and Dave make more touring videos I will watch them.
ОтветитьThe fast pint hisologically colour because norwegian possibly muddle upon a agreeable save. useful, lying ikebana
ОтветитьThe legend says, he keeps saying "yeah" before every single sentence
ОтветитьId love to see dave back again to teach about how to limit your avalanche risk as much as possible and test for avalanches on the mountain
ОтветитьBoaring stuff here
ОтветитьThis was great. Thank you. Very helpful indeed
ОтветитьThe camera shots are NOT AT ALL helpful for an overall view on how to work with this gear.
ОтветитьThis vieo is so helpful and super relaxing to watch!! :)
ОтветитьPro tip: take your probe out of the case (can save vital seconds)
ОтветитьVery cool. All of it
ОтветитьSir,i am a big fan of yours and appreciate if you can gift me a skii because i can't afford it, thanks.
Ответитьhowcome a\t people are such douches
ОтветитьAn ice climbing video with Dave would be so cool
ОтветитьHey jens what vest is that it looks so comfortable
ОтветитьWhat are the holes in the front of the boots that the pins go into called?
ОтветитьI just got my first pair of at skis so I’m super excited to go ski Quandry!
ОтветитьWhat do you think of those shift bindings? How is the downhill on them? And what ski would you recommend for resort powder, Bent chetler 100, 120 or black crows atris?
ОтветитьThe tutorial I needed! I actually completely forgot about this video. Definitely good timing for it with regards to all the resorts closing due to covid-19.
ОтветитьThanks for making this!
ОтветитьJust the right content to show my sister what backcountry skiing is all about! Thanks
ОтветитьGreat video, more from Dave pleae
ОтветитьClimbing up the mountain is just something I have no interest in. Lifts work great for me.
ОтветитьNice, practical and easy to grasp vid guys. Thank you.
ОтветитьMost important thing when setting a skin track: make shallow, wide, switchbacks, especially if it's a large group. It should be like an easy hiking trail, not steep ramps. If it's a big group, the track will get packed down a lot and become very difficult for the last people to ascend because it's so smooth.
ОтветитьGreat video. I love the trick for testing for 30° slope.
ОтветитьTraduction french please
ОтветитьWhat binding it is please? Thank you!
ОтветитьI feel it's safer to do a kick turn with your downhill ski first and you are supporting your body with your poles into the hill. It was awkward how you had to not hit your uphill pole
ОтветитьWhat skins did you use in this video? I woule really appreciate an answer, thanks 😊
ОтветитьI'd honestly always pack crampons. You never know when you find yourself on a hill which is shadow exposed and icy - even during a hot day
ОтветитьThink backcountry is becoming more interesting to a lot of people that are getting sick of Disney style resorts and crowded slopes. It's pure!
ОтветитьWhy do you user the Atomic shift and the backcountry 107?
