IONOS Review | Is IONOS Web Hosting 2024 Still Good?

I need to remove my hosting from IONOS. Absolutely awful service with too many hidden costs, or features that were once included but now cost way too much

This service is the worst. You webhostting reviewers are cheaters.

I had businesss email wit them and a domain first, later i cancelled it and that worksd fine. I liked the call support.

Then i got a cloud sever. Got alot of help with them over the phone. It was good. But this year to upgrade is giving me less for more money than it is to get a new contract new server. !? When i spoke to the agent he wasnt helpful ( u do get some odd ones but for most undo get some famtasic ones). This guys just said. New server better , and old one not. And id i wants dto migrate my stuff from the olde server to the new one i can do that eaily if i kkw how to. If not i can get a quote from them to do it. But he didn't wanna acknowledge that having being with them for a year, tht i get penalised if i upgrade than just yaking nnew contract..
I knwk kf i jd spokn to another they would have just helped me.
Woild i stick with them- they are definitely cheeper and easier go pay monthly than annually at once and call suport is rare but helpful to have. Have i hd billing issues? Once but they refuned it and did it promptly. Not any issues.
Ionos or racknerd? Definitely IONOS.

I have personally used ionos for over a year, and here is my take on things.

Ionos is definitely not a set and forget provider. There is a lot you have to stay on top of when it comes to host a website through them. I have had the php problem before, but as long as you update it regularly (for me about every week i check for updates) it doesn't become a problem, since i work on my sites daily, this isnt a problem for me, but may be for some people. One of my biggest problems i deal with though is the abysmal database system. Half the time loading a page wth php content simply doesn't work. When opened as a html, the site works fine! When opened with php.... ionos struggles to either load the page correctly, or more often doesn't load at all. Having to deal with that after spending the time to make a site and test everything on local host, only for it to simply refuse when hosted on ionos, makes it a very annoying problem. Also, even though i am using the business plan, having an upload cap for content even though it says "unlimited" may be a deal breaker for some. My sites often deal with large images, so only being able to upload files up to a certain size means i have to find work arounds just to host my site. The loading times for sites however is quite nice though, no complaints there, and the built in domain system works very well for me. Overall, if your main goal is to host a simple site, and plan to update it regularly, this isnt a bad servce, but for many entry level, or high-level developers, this may not work best for you.

I have been trying to contact them for 10 days but their live chat nor the phone is available and they take 2 days to reply to my emails giving me incomplete answers to contact them again.
I have paid for an year and want to switch my hosting to vps but they are not responding and then asking me to pay 1 more year $120 of shared hosting if I want to switch to vps. I bought the vps and its status is on still it's giving me connection timed out

Yeah sure... how honest can a paid review be, huh? ;-) Hope you can sleep well at night after scamming us here with this BS.

Do not go with IONOS They will threaten you on a cancelled service and will threaten to bring legal action against you if you cancel the service due to not knowing wtf it is and then they will say you owe them so and so, but the service was cancelled because you don't know what this service was for!

fake sponsored review, everyone knows all those websites would work the first month without any issues (hence the money-back guarantee is 30 days) but as soon as you pass that, you will get nothing but a broken service.. they won't refund you and ask you to wait until they fix it, which would take days and days with service down, you have to make a dispute at the bank or if it's an American company, BBB (Better business bureau)

Ionos is Absolutely rubbish, I just moved my websites back to my old hosting after just over 1 years.
It’s not worth it and not secure for your website at all

IONOS is TERRIBLE. I had a simple html site of my house remodel and they kept charging me for "out-of-date" PHP support. I would log into my account and click update PHP and get confirmation that it had updated and I would still be invoiced for the out-of-date PHP. Got tired of fighting with them about it. Moved my hosting and recommend you RUN away from IONOS - don't even consider them.

I don't recommend them they make it worse not better and their services are horrible do it yourself

If you have canceled your IONOS contract, the cancellation is now active and your IONOS login has been deleted.
