Love it. I watched the Maia analysis by BJJ Scout and from purple to black it had the biggest influence on my passing style.

I found myself doing this naturally and I've had the most success when I pass using tripod. I'm definitely gonna show this to my coach and ask for a private lesson. Thanks Stephan.

A question for Rob and the high tripod: Aren't you vulnerable to the "knee to the butt" kuzushi in that position?

This is excellent and will work as a bridge between my main two passing strategies. I cant wait to try this, thanks for sharing!

I love tripoding. I’m still learning as I’m the only one who does it in my club, but I’m having a lot of success with it, especially against younger grapplers.

Interesting . When he is in the low tripod (with his head near the bottom player’s hips) it makes me think “Danaher favors the top player to be more out to the side , pretty much 90 degrees to the bottom player, with (in this case, if Stephan had walked his butt towards the camera ) his head resting on/near the bottom player’s left hip, his right forearm framing against the bottom player’s left hip/inguinal area, and his left hand on the bottom player’s right knee, pushing that right knee south and away. He calls that 90 degree position the “J point “ because it is the point where the bottom player is in jeopardy. You can kind of camp out there , as a top player “.
I am wondering if Rob prefers the more parallel spines approach he is demonstrating over the perpendicular spines approach Danaher teaches and emphasizes.
Love your channel. Love Rob’s stuff . Thank you !
