I remember eating street food in Vietnam. I payed around $8 to feed myself and 3 other people. We ate meat and noodle soup with rice. So it can be done if you avoid the more expensive restaurants.

I’ve cooked in high end restaurants and members clubs in London England over 10 years also, restaurants and private yachts all over the world. Never once was I asked if I have been to university or college cooking certs. Hygiene was usually done/updated while at the restaurant.

Is it true you can only go there so many times for 3 months before they stop it? In other words, can you go there 3 months, leave 3, stay 3 months, leave 3 and do that for several years?

I used to live like this guy lol, some people don't feel the need to drink beer or get constant coffees etc. he's not including his visa run prices but he's not lying about everything else. 5m apt is standard. Read the comments from people below that have lived in Vietnam. A lot isn’t right with costs, I’ve been to Vietnam and travel on a budget,— this doesn’t add up unless he’s misleading us with his lifestyle.

This guy has a nice outlook on different cultures, learning and adapting. He likely is stretching it a bit on the number of countries he's lived for awhile and the countries he's been to. If he's doing OMAD and living in a hut without power & water, maybe below $400 is possible. Just don't see it, unless he has a bunch of roommates he's not telling us about.

The point is its a far lower cost of living than UK or US for example. If you are retired or digital nomad or something then the cost of living somewhere like this is amazing

No way is he eating like a king for $60 per month. My maid buys food from the market to cook for 3 of us, and it averages about $8-$9 per day for homecooked food. A kilo of prawns is about $10. Pork ribs cost about $15 per kilo. My electricity bill is about $120 per month cos i can't do without aircon in my apartment. Please don't be mislead by this guy and his professed frugality. Vietnam isn't as cheap as it is made out to be, and i've lived in hcmc for nearly 15 years.
