DO'S & DON'TS | How to Paint Realistic Fur

Hi ! I'm a beginner. Do I need to wait for the paint to dry after applying the background or wash color ? and do I need to wait for drying, between each layers of paint ?

This was amazing lesson. Now if I could just do it on the bear that I want to create. I’ve done him twice and don’t like either one of them because I can’t get a fur effect. And I thought you were supposed to start light and watercolor, and go to darks …. but you haven’t done that and it’s totally realistic

These tips don’t work with watercolor

I have been trying to paint dogs. what brush are you using to paint the fur? You said a detailed brush. What sort please. I need help. I am using fine brushes but am struggling.

Heya- I know this is an old video, but would it be possible to see a scan of this exercise? at times, I was confused if the tones I was seeing you work with were your work, or the light reflecting off of your canvas. Specifically, at the very beginning of tip 4, when you were applying the beginning layer, I thought the color you were applying looked very similar to the center of the base coat, and I wondered if you gave it a gray-to-black circle gradient off camera. Thank you for your work anyhow, this video was still a godsend

I am such a beginner that I didn't realize you were even working with a paint brush! I thought it was a pen because nobody's ever told me how to hold a detail paint brush LIKE one would hold a pen, but that makes it so much easier!! Yay. Wow, this is a great simplistic video. I have seen a lot of videos but this is the best one when it comes to making fur..the other videos do not show up close on how too...but yours is excellent!!!! Just a well informative video..❤❤thank you for sharing ❤ ❤❤❤❤❤❤

This is amazing! Im doing my first realistic animal artwork and these is really helpful. Just a quick question. I'm using a rake brush going layer over layer mixing colours and so. Is it a good way of getting realistic fur to? Of course is going to take more time and mixing it with liner brushes to. Any recommendations?

When painting does it dry first before adding layers cause when I try to paint fur, it mixes together and looks bad...
