I never have any compassion for people who complain about the canceling process. You signed up, you can sign out. The laziness extends from making a membership to never going to then complain that you have to show up to cancel.

One time i farted too loud and the lunk alarm went off.

I like the Planet Fitnesses in my area (Fredericksburg Va). Was apprehensive about joining because of videos like this, but it’s incredibly affordable. It’s not high energy as far as the people, mostly young adults and people that don’t look like heavy gym goers, I’m very high intensity with a bodybuilding focus, but it doesn’t affect me and no one gives me a hard time. They don’t have all the equipment one would want, but they have enough to get a great workout. Front desk is always nice. Plus with the Black Card membership I can use the three gyms in my area, which is really convenient. Maybe my area is different but I can’t complain 🤷‍♂️

Call me crazy but I would love that Pizza Mondays.

No one is “intimidated” by anyone at the gym. Everyone is too busy minding their own business to notice how much someone is lifting or someone’s gallon water jug.

Scam hard to cancel low quality equipment. Trashy staff.

Find this a great business strategy. Focus on members who will pay $10/mo forever because they dont feel any insecurity, drama, or intimidation at the gym.

You know those wearing revealing workout clothes or using 4+ plates are only at PF because they are not hot enough for other gyms.

Rules to be a PF personal trainer:
1) practice good posture
2) keep the elbow as the only significant part of your arm

i visited on when I was out of town for my son's college audition. I was training full on for Ironman and had a planned run including intervals. I got told I ran "too happy", too fast and too long. UGH

I have a Planet Fitness about 10 minutes from where I live. It's great for me, because I'm a cardio guy (treadmill, elliptical, and cycling are what I go there to do). Is a great value since I don't have to worry about buying equipment or maintaining it. Also don't have to worry about finding space for it. No lunk alarms have gone off. There are people of all fitness levels and body types, and it's super clean. I don't think they do the pizza or bagels thing, although they do have some Tootsie Rolls on the front counter, which I wouldn't even want after working out.

And of course I got a pizza commercial right at the end.

I've been saying this for years, Planet Fitness does not want you to actually go to their gym. They just want you to pay their monthly membership. Only 1/3 of people with gym memberships actually go to their gym. That's why they don't want people who are serious about fitness. They want people who are going to show up once or twice after new years, then pay and not go.

As someone who doesnt gain weight no matter what I eat. The pizza sounds pretty dope lol

Yes, you can treat yourself something one in a while. But you don t want to be that "treat" after a training. You want that when you are with your partner or with friends. At a moment you can relax and enjoy it.

It picked up the nickname planet fatass. I got my girlfriend this about 10 years ago. I put it on her name and paid with my card. She went twice. It was too much trouble for her to go on and cancel. And I nagged. Eventually I just reported my card stolen. Payments stopped. No fee.

This is wild to me - so they want people to be stuck on Beginner/Novice level for 'vibes'? PureGym/The Gym Group could never!

I literally 100% agree that moderation is key to living a healthy and happy life and indulging in junk food every so often isn't bad at all especially when you work out. Don't see anything wrong with that.

I find the same goes for people. If they say, "I don't judge anyone," I immediately know they are extremely judgmental. It seems to cater to leftie feminists and soyboys and narcissists and employs malignant narcissists to run them. Well, good luck with that business model.

The other thing that I’ve had to experience throughout my time with planet fitness was you have to go above and beyond and send letters in order to cancel your membership and then if you cancel your membership due to the state or town or a city that doesn’t have a planet fitness for whatever reason they will magically Put a planet fitness where you live. It’s happened to me three times in every place that I’ve lived in.

You signed up for a gym 45 minutes away. That's your own damn fault.

Guys...stop complaining and go to a gym that has more intense people. I switched from OneLife to planet and so far is good. I missed the heavy weights but I don't miss all the people on steroids!

Sam Sulek loads up those plates on stacks!!! Glad my PF isn't strict like this. I don't even think the lunk alarm is on because I try to set it off and nothing lol. I wanna set it off so damn bad though!

My PF has the one sided toxic "Lunk alarm" but none of the other signage. We've got some beefy dudes there too, never been given any trouble and are socially liked among the staff and other goers. The lunk alarm is only used by staff to prank their buddies when they're lifting. They ring it once, look at and laugh at their buddies. Otherwise it's never used.

Had hesitations about PF, but my location isn't bad. Only affordable gym in my area.

To be honest, that only ones who complain aren't the target group so why would they care?

As someone who goes to a Planet Fitness basically every bad thing listed here hasn't happened to the one I go to. I have seen a ton of extremely jacked people but I have never seen them get kicked out since I have seen some of them multiple times on different days, and I have never heard the lunk alarm go off. Maybe it's because of the staff working at the one I go to. I go to PF almost every day but have never seen them hold a "Pizza Monday." But clearly this might have happened many times at different PF locations, so I'm not able to speak for other people, because everything that is written in this comment is based on my expieriences.
