Okay hear me out, I read alot of negative comments on the father. I sympathise a little with the father. Going through similar experiences growing up. I do believe the mothers hatred is rubbing off a little on the kids. the kids dont understand the financial situation he is in. Its not always easy if u look at it financially. the kids sound a little spoilt only wanting to spend time with their father if its money related. Its already difficult for him financially to even get to them. I feel that the mother talks too much personal problems with the kids, and that painted a picture of him in their minds. The mother couldn't even tell the father the time of the surgery, she doesn't his situation, if hes running a few minutes late, its not gng to kill you to wait a little. Now cancel the whole visit and tell ur kids that hes a no show? shes feeding his kids lies out of her own hatred and grudge towards him. The mother is causing a lot of these problems. The father can only do so much.

Every word out of all the kids mouths is the mothers words. The fact that Dr Phil did not realise that and that the mother has alienated the children from him is disgusting. Like when he minimises a female abuser and tells me they may not defend themselves.

I'm 100% sure teenagers' mothers have played a big role in all this mess.. These teens need to understand that women generally use their kids to avenge their ex-husband or bf.. this father should have tried more to reach his kids.. but I'm sure they mother has played a big role for all these circumstances..

Contrary to what many seem to think, and in his defence he seems like a good man overall might be wrong but I hope everything works out well, he’s lucky to have the blessing of a beautiful family it would be good to raise them well.

It’s not ridiculous that Tod thinks his the victim in anyway and his new wife thinks she helping the situation in anyway and think she has the right to try and correct the children behavior. The kids don’t have to like love or respect his new wife and forcing them to spend time with her when they make it clear they don’t want to be around her is not only in appropriate it’s gonna drive them further away from him. The fact that the kids mom took them on a cruise doesn’t change that he has a legal obligation and moral duty to help support the children he helped create. He wants to say the stepfather should make up the difference why doesn’t he make his wife get a job and contribute.

I noticed he said “I’m here because you want to fix this.” This man disgusts me. He’s a sorry excuse for a father, and he will never admit he is wrong in any way. And how the new wife can sit there and support his behavior is baffling.

God what a miserable environment to grow up in. Those kids really drew the short straws of parents.

I grew up without ever knowing my father or mother. The saddest part was that my father lived just down the street. He got a new wife. Had a new family and wanted nothing to do with me. It was much easier to get over the loss of my mother because she was gone. My father was a stones throw away from me and I don't even remember ever hearing a happy birthday. Let alone an I love you. My entire life I never felt good enough. When the two people in the world who are supposed to love you unconditionally don't love or want you at all it does something to you down deep in your soul. I often wonder how my life might have been had I felt loved and protected growing up. I can't change what was but I did do my best to make certain my children always knew how precious to me and how loved, they were. I couldn't imagine my life without them.
