A lot of US companies rip you off, because there are people out there willing to pay crazy amounts of money for things that cost pennies to make. Americans are kind of stupid at the moment of buying. They almost never think about what the real manufacturing price might be. Woodpecker is a good product but waaaaay overpriced.

Metric, made in China. I'd rather pay American's to make American wages, with benefits. Start buying things made in your own country and supporting your own people and country. Wake up people. Don't you see the mess the mess we all are in with China?

Another Chinese company rips off an American company. It’s hard to resist the prices, but it’s a reason all our western economies struggle with manufacturing

I'm not going to buy Chinese if I can when uk or USA is available. Eventually no one will have a job because we've all been outsourced. Just bought my 1st woodpecker rule and very pleased. Shame there's no accuracy tests in this as part of the comparison. Enjoyed seeing the items available anyway so thanks for that.

Had I known what Veiko's parallel guides cost I wouldn't have made my own. I never doubted Woodpecker's quality but figured, like a cocaine habit, they were for rock stars and crooked politicians. I have bought the 32mm hinge jig, the 600mil square, and 4 of the ratchet clamps. Banggood's holiday sales events are worth waiting for.

I can’t afford woodpecker tools.
The closest thing I have might be a push stick I made.
I made it long and slender with a bulbous grip on the end. Then I thought it would be a good idea to round all edges to make it more hand friendly. It has a little notch on the end.
It’s my wood pecker. Sometimes I’m reluctant to pick it up.

I understand comparing the price but how are you comparing the quality of the tools if you do not have the tools to see and feel. I can see trying to get tools on the cheaper side but then at the end, you get what you pay for. Shipping is shipping if I want an item I pay what it takes. I think a lot of us will. I don't think you should compare pricing when you do not compare quality.

Our future generations may look back on a video like this one and condemn it as the slave trade was condemned. Maybe.
Is it ok for manufacturing prices to be reduced by producing products in lower standard of living country’s? I would say yes. As long as it benefits the people in that country. But China? I am not convinced the people are benefiting anything. Only the Chinese government.
Also, if the Chinese manufacturer is actually copying the product from Woodpeckers, which by all appearances they are, then shame on the people that help them continue in that crime.
Apparently people like yourself who are even producing a prophet through stolen ideas.

I don't know. Though i love affordable tools, at the end of the day, if i were a furniture maker/designer, i wonder how would i feel if the products i designed and crafted so meticulously through my sweat, blood and time and a potential customer of mine bought someone else's instead because it's way cheaper with looks so similar to mine.

Great comparison. Without going into western perceived ideas about working conditions in China and the ethics of copying products what is clear is not the cheapness of the banggood stuff but the overpricing of the USA stuff.
Personally when I watch US based woodworking channels I wonder how furniture was made before the advent of CNC machines! I think some of the content creators would need a fancy jig to dispense toilet roll 😅

Thank you very much for the video. We woodworkers pay enough for tools as it is. In the US Banggood freight charges are very low, as in one to three dollars for an item. I have been a Banggood customer for several years and have found the products to be outstanding in design and manufacturing quality. Keep up the good work.

you are not taking into account a lot of things, like R&D (they are stealing patents), and you dont compare precisions. So they could be totally useless.

Without actually having the Woodpecker's version on-hand to compare with, this "comparison" is moot. At least Hooked on Wood owns both the Woodpeckers and Bangood product and does a fair comparison of both products.

I don't agree that you will save money from some of the tools, bacause you will face so much problems working with them... Also if you make a video after a year or so, i am interested if this tools will still do the work! The clamping square's for example are very good example... I have the Woodpecker's one's and i can say that they are AMAZING! Very easy to use even with one hand, which is impossible with the cheap ones. T-Square have a major difference in the real life too even if they look the same on the pictures. Someone in the comments sad that square is a square... Yes it is, if it is REALLY SQUARE 😉 I am also not sure how durable this tools are... Are they laser ingraved and so on...
So if you buy this cheap buy a few times...it will not be so cheap anymore and most important it will not do the work and will not save you time...
Just thinking out loud!

But I ain't buying products from a country that is hostile to the west and Taiwan.

Happy new year Ryan. Some good comparisons there and I find it ridiculous that a UK company should charge so much. We keep being told to buy British but at those prices you can’t blame people for shopping elsewhere although I must admit I really don’t want to be giving any money to China right now…

They’re cheaper because they do not pay for research and development. They’re cheaper because their salaries are not fair. I’m not against bangood, but if you make an honest comparison between prices, you should also consider these aspects.
