Simple Ukulele Fingerpicking Pattern with Amazing Sounding Chords

Hi, I'm a beginner at ukulele and I'm confused with the Am chord. I learned it as 2 0 0 0. Why is it 2 0 0 3? Same with the F chord. I learned it as 2 0 1 0. But here it's 2 0 1 3.

Notice Marco's dynamics. Some notes are accented, and some notes are brushed lightly, almost ghosted. That provides the sweet syncopation of the finger-picking, and brings out the melody.

If your fingernails are just the right length, you can get a lot of sensitivity by choosing how much of each pluck is from the fleshy ball of the fingertip, and how much is from the fingernail.

You will never get this from thinking too much about it. It is more about feel, listening to your own playing, and feedback. Your brain will grow the new necessary neural pathways while you are sleeping.

I've been practicing this for a week or so now and I'm kind of wondering where to go with it from here? Is there a particular song that goes with it (ie- singing or words)? I think that would give a bit more purpose to it after you get it figured out
