NEVER Trust Amazon Reviews!

Correction: I was unaware that the brand FunWares reached out to a member of my team located in the United States. That member asked to have the items sent to me, but since I did not have any direct contact with Funwares, neither myself, the UK team, nor my family knew where these had come from. The brand did not just send it out of nowhere. Further, I am not alleging the brand paid for any fake reviews. The miscommunication prompted the investigation into this topic, but I do not believe that FunWares fakes its user reviews or pays for any user reviews. As stated in the video I enjoyed using the product and make no representations or believe that the company has done anything wrong or misleading - that said, it doesn’t change the fact that these types of scams are very prevalent online!

Amazon in Spain is starting to keep the most expensive returned items and send you a message like "send us the product if you want the refund".. we are forced to use their own delivery services and we can't complain.. Just lost my pixel7 (500€) in their warehouses and they don't answer my mails or calls.. Be careful! Amazon is inside all homes and starts to become more abusive and shady.

This was this very brushing scandal when a few years ago suddenly a lot of people started receiving small satchels of random plant seeds from amazon without ever ordering anything like that. Many feared they were something dangerous - turned out they were ordinary and harmless seeds. The scammers just needed to send something to obtain a tracking number, and this something nooded to be cheap aand insignificanrt, so sending a lot of them to many customers doesn't cost a lot, and the customers who receive it surely won't bother sending it back.

To be fair, the 1-star review for the awful game console says that the reviewer doesn't work, not the product ("I don't work") - why it should factor in the review is a mystery though :D

Amazon Vine is a joke as well. Very rarely will you find bad Vine reviews. Some reviewers leave a very vague sentence or two as their review. How is this helpful? They just want to keep getting free stuff. It's a racket

I don't buy anything from Amazon, so I don't have to read fake reviews there, but I have seen games and apps in Google Play Store that had fake reviews. You can tell if you see a cluster of reviews all saying basically the same thing one after another. Some developers will do this to make their own apps look more enticing for users to try them.

I've written a lot of reviews on Amazon over the years, and I only review items that I personally purchased for my own use. I have had the "most helpful" reviews on many products, and have been the first reviewer of numerous products. Despite that, I have yet to be invited into the Vine program. I have declined several offers directly from sellers to review their products, so I wonder whether that has anything to do with it. Or, perhaps it's because I'm not a Prime member. I can see Amazon wanting to reward their Prime payers vs. us 2nd-class citizens.
Not that I'm complaining, since I don't generally trust reviews that are based on incentive of any kind. Getting free stuff certainly seems to be an incentive to be a review factory and leave positive reviews to keep the freebies coming.

I've left many 1 star reviews to warn people of problems. I am detailed in these reviews, as in the high star ones, and Amazon hasn't removed any of my low star reviews nor banned me ever. I have noticed, however, that my 4 and 5 star reviews have many more helpful votes than my low star reviews. I sometimes wonder whether this is because people in general prefer to read feel-good reviews and don't like bad news, or whether it's Amazon doing this on purpose to boost sales (perhaps they delete/reduce helpful votes on low star reviews so they get buried?).

I've also left unverified reviews for items that I requested relatives to purchase with their Prime so I'd receive them quicker. These are also items that I personally use.

I also often mention the price at time of writing in my reviews, since prices go crazy on Amazon, most often increasing and not coming back down to the price I paid.


If people don't want to read or trust my reviews, it's their loss. I write them in my spare time to be of assistance, because I'm frequently faced with making a purchasing decision about an item for which there is precious little useful info, including the Amazon product page details. I make up for that where I can by writing very detailed reviews. It's a shame all the scamming has the effect of turning people away from my reviews.

Great video i enjoyed watching it. But you are wrong on one thing. You cant start cheap and then increase the price massively, amazon will remove you from the selling box. I even had stock sent back to me because i wouldn't match a sell price of 0.99 even though it wasn't for sale on the other listing and impossible to buy for that price. Amazon is quite strict about pricing.

My mother's car was hit in our driveway by Amazon prime delivery , Amazon has to pay for it , that was in May , last month her car went to the repair shop. Just yesterday we out it was toedle. Mom needs new car again.

I still didn't understand one thing that product getting delivered by data leak mechanism, how seller can write review on any of their product they want as for writing a review they need the customer username and password both to login in customer's amazon account. And now a days even if get username and password, amazon have 2FA policy which can restrict seller to login.
