This is the by far the most accurate list I have seen, every new players should watch this video and get all the characters mentioned except the DPS section.

Awesome video with great recommendations. I'm a veteran who has all mentioned characters, and I agree with the list. I'll just say that because Kazuha/Sucrose and Furina/Xingqiu exist, Yelan and Venti are easy skips for new players.

I would replace Ganyu with Hu Tao for the top 4 recommended DPS. Hu Tao is f20 friendly if you have her Dragon's Bane or even Black/White Tassel, especially with R5 Dragon's Bane, that weapon damage is almost on par witj Staff of Homa. While Ganyu has fallen of, Hu Tao still remains as one of the top Dps in Abyss

Kokomi shopuld've been on there instead of Furina. You said versatility and flexibility matter for your list, but Furina isn't versatile and flexible. You're very restricted to teams that can afford to run a healer. Meanwhile Kokomi IS the healer while having better Hydro application and on field flexibility. With her only real weakness being no crits. She meets all your criteria whereas Furina doesn't.

Just a little note, Anemo can effect dendro secondhand. If an Anemo does pyro swirl and hits a dendro core, the burgeon trigger will pull off the Anemo unit's EM. I do this all the time as a Sucrose main

Neuvilette is pretty f2p friendly, and hella powerfull. Imo he's even better for new players than furina, furina's hp draining from everyone may be confusing, and sometimes you don't have a slot for a healer, meanwhile neuv is good by himself. You don't even need a shielder if you know how to dodge


I would add layla. If you don't have zhong li, she is a really good replacement. Very strong shield, cryo application, her ultimate is like ganyu's ult. And also she literally has no shield CD. Very helpful

I have been using a team composition that includes Zhongli, Nahida, Kokomi and Keqing (Used in that order in my team rotation) which creates a comfortable hyperbloom team with good defensive, healing and offensive capabilities. I tried replacing Keqing with my Raiden Shogun but her coordinated electro attacks don't seem to work against shielded enemies especially the Abyss Mages. i am currently building my recently acquired Kuki Shinobu to test her in that team as well. Maybe i should replace Kokomi with Xingqiu but i really appreciate Kokomi's ability to heal my characters in or outside of battle. I also have another team with a similar style with characters that can be changed depending if i want to use them in the spiral abyss (or any other similar content) or the overworld and it includes Zhongli (or Noelle) Furina, Baizhu and The Raiden Shogun. I believe that Kuki Shinobu would work very well as a replacement for the Raiden Shogun in that team as well. I could also use a pyro DPS in the final slot of those two teams depending on the situation but i believe that electro characters would work better most of the time.

So from what got from this video is "pull for all Archons" lol. I don't have a clear goal of what I want in Genshin (which is why I quit in the first place aside from not being a fan of gacha stuff anyway), but if I come back, I'll just save whatever resources I have and just pull Archons. At least I can have two solid Archon teams in the future once Pyro and Cryo Archons show up, and drop MC in one of those teams since MC is supposed to be special anyway.

That'd be a solid goal I guess, more so than trying to figure what waifu I want for what team and so on so forth.

I think one missing category is overworld exploration. Most people will be playing overworld as Spiral Abyss is only a small part of the game. In that case Yelan gets even better, especially with Wanderer.

puts bennet and Xiangling who breaks the first rule of his video........... Xiangling needs C4/C6 else her burst wont last as long and ruin rotations and Bennet needs C1 else you will not have that buff up unless u are 70% or higher and me who doesnt use either especially bennet crazy

You should also put neuvillette in hydro since he is bya far the strongest and easy to use dps people were soloing abyss with just him

Ive played since basically right before liyue. You can not go wrong with zhongli or kokomi on any team. Best shield and best healer. Put any support, any dps with them.

My personal add would be neuvillette bc i have him at c0, a four star weapon on him and he still does some good damage and hes a great main dps but hes off field

While Furina is awesome (I have her, I love her, I use her both in overworld and abyss), I don't think she should be on this list. In the beginning it was mentioned that these characters on the list will not require other characters to feel powerful and Furina is not a one person unit (unless you get higher constellations). You need a team wide healer with her. Currently, theres only one healer who does team wide healing with E, so if you have a teamwide healer who heals on Q and you miss a burst in one rotation, it not only puts you in a vulnerable state thanks to low hp, but also is a massive dps loss since you can't stack fanfare points without using HP as a resource. She also feels terrible to play when you're doing random overworld things because her pets drain hp for the silliest things. I can't count how many times I had to heal up my team inbetween runs so I don't die mid battle. In coop, I always fear seeing another furina because 4 person domain runs require some sort of synergy and if one of them is constantly draining health of otehr team members against overpowered mobs (as is the case for 4 person teams), you can get one shotted pretty easily. I always bring out my healer if someone else chooses Furina. She is not viable without a team wide healer and essentially takes up two spots in your team, and she will put you at the edge of your seat with the constant hp drain. There is a learning curve to her rotations and little wiggle room for making mistakes there. Her walking on water is literally awesome. Her healing capabilities are actually super good as well. She heals so much, you won't even need a healer if you use her in that mode (which you only should in case of emergency). I wish they added even a tiny bit of particle generation from it but I guess they would not be able to sell her constellations otherwise. So, in my personal opinion and experience, Furina is awesome, but she NEEDS a teamwide healer and is, by no means, a comfortable pick. She will keep you on your toes.

(Again, personal opinion. Don't jump me. Furina simps, I'm one of you. I love her, thats why my f2p ass saved up and pulled for her as my first 5 star. I'm just sharing my experience.)

In short, pull all archons cause they are Versatile, futureproof and good enough at C0.

Might be bias but with the way dendro has buffed electro, I would put Yae on the electro list

I wonder where Ayaka is f2p friendly, I pulled for her as a beginer and even with better stats, she does less dmg than my Xiao (that's only with Noelle, Sucrose and Bennett) while my Ayaka is with Kokomi, Kazuha and c4 Rosaria, biggest regret I ever had is Ayaka

The good thing about the electro part is that it does not matter if you have all 3 or not, but just by pulling for Raiden you already have the chance of getting all 3

How is he versatile and super powerful at the same time? well... you dont need other characters to make him work... time building goes out the window when you have him. he can run solo or with some other off field characters to provide him with reactions for his passive... but other than that... he does not need anybody. that is the definition of versatility. he is so versatile and clears content so fast you dont even need other characters.

The fact than you don't need any geo character to have strong team...lol. At least it's good at comforting your team.

I agree with most of your picks except furina. "Cheap" Furina is kinda team dependent... if her team has shitty build, then she's sucks. It doesn't matter how great her buff is, 0*100%=0 afterall. She's only great if you already have at least good build for your dps, preferably HP scaling dps to optimize her buff's mechanic. Her companions' AI is also kinda frustrating to watch.

Changing HP mechanic is alternative gameplay for current "meta" at best (for now) and resource hogger at worst (for now). Basically, you need to build your team around Furina's buff (HP changing mechanic)...maybe someday we'll find best use case for furina, but for now... i only see C0 furina is good if paired with instant healers and HP scaling dps with good build. Technically you still can use her for other teams, but so does kokomi/mona.

The main I use almost all the time is Noelle and she never gets any love on the kinds of lists.

Idk why but i'm still allergic of Bennet for no particular reason.

For exploration only you need a DPS, Sub DPS, and a Healer

For Solo bosses and Domain, you need DPS and Buffers.
