Thank you for clear and easy explanation. However, my problem is smart failure! My passport had no issue, but suddenly it suddenly happened after transferring files from my PC to it. Drive letter is shown as "Local Disk D:" between other partitions of my internal disk. Please advise if there is any solution to repair it?!

Neither methods worked. With the second method, the drive was STILL not found...

I think sometimes the issue is there isnt enough power to run the drive which is my case with the wdby810020bbk-01..

WD drive utilities didn't see my WD passport and Disk management was stuck on connecting to virtual disk service. when I unplugged the passport it loaded and when I replugged it back in Disk management stopped responding.

Great video! i did everything in the video and still having trouble with my WD ssd i hear it when i plug it in but i cannot see it. i need more help please let me know if there is something else i can do to fix it. TIA

Thank you for the detailed video. I had to use WD Utilities to format my ExHD as a NTFS drive even though I had previously formatted the drive as NTFS using Paragon for MacOS. I'm running Parallels to run windows on my macbook and even after mounting the drive to Windows, it was not appearing under 'This PC'. Once I used WD Utilities to format the drive it was assigned a drive letter and appeared as an available drive.

It didn't work for me. I still cant see any of my files.
