I also remember I put my Dratini in my Pokewalker, and well, the Pokewalker died and I lost the charger. And It's also one of the reasons Lugia is one of my favorite legendary Pokemon too! It was the first one I caught, I named him Winner, and then I was stupid cus I traded it away for my friends Ho Oh.

Youngster Joey i never take him seriously everytime I battle him even after the pokemon league being champion of Johto and Kanto and defeating Red he has a Raticate after Hoenn and Sinnoh I play the remakes and do the same thing even after completing the pokedex for the second time in the region he still has a Rattata no Raticate. I usually answer his call always wondering about what happens or what's going on in game and I leave them to stand there waiting but, always battling them if I get bored or lose them cuz I forget which route they are on. Does anyone else find it weird like an adult hiker or something in the game after you defeat them they want your number? That's strange you are a kid going through the region and some random person says you are good at battling and want your number. I always love rematches especially with trainers that are weak to see that they got a bit stronger and to earn extra cash in game. Plus my champion status not one to go through the elite four 50 times I go through once and for games like gold silver and crystal I go through twice once after Johto and once after Kanto. I enjoy my time and take my time through the game. If I slow play it, it takes a year cuz I wanna level up my team evenly and complete the pokedex. Normally I answer I battle straight away if i want exp but, if im trying to work on the pokedex or if im in Kanto collecting badges I put the battle on hold. I try to take it easy like if he has a level 20 Rattata I would bring out a level 20 just for the heck of it but, I usually just want to end the battle quickly so I can get back to work. If I'm in Kanto and he calls I want to finish whatever getting badges and then come to him but, if I have nothing better to do like not fighting team rocket I will go over annihilate his team then go back to Kanto. Mainly I focus on what im doing after 8 badges I train with my new team for Kanto and go face the elite four defeat whoever wants a rematch get my strongest team and defeat Red. Joey isn't tough but, I do like the creepypasta about his Rattata. This story is pretty cool im even happy after leaving to go on to my next game after completing it I come back to see about rematches and defeating whoever before I go check out my old team and old accomplishments then move on to my new game.

As others have pointed out Joey does call for rematches and Radicate can learn all of those moves with the exception of Water Pulse via TM though he is a child, therefore, I supposed it can be argued that he doesn't get enough allowance for TMs and became unstable from desperation.

I do like that he continues to call it Ratatta even after it evolves this fits with how he'll always talk about having a top percentage Ratatta despite him having a Raticate in rematches and the concept is fantastic.

Hmm, I normally hate fakemon. But I would love to see rom hack that did something like this, a fakemon that developed from existing mon is a fewest concept
