if this professor was unlucky enough for me to already dislike him I would’ve walked away from the class in a very “confirmative way” and then straight to the dean’s office to report how he is completely unable to withhold his emotional outbursts and that I’m not paying 40k to listen this bullshit. I’m really sorry for everyone thinking that this behaviour is acceptable but for a 40 yrs old man to act like an offended 14 yrs old kid is just beyond me.

IF the professor was irritated that someone kept yawning loudly as commentary on his lectures, there were better ways to handle it. E.g., 20 minutes before class end tell everyone to produce a sheet of paper for a pop quiz. Then with a smile say, “I hope you were awake during class”. The rest of the class would make sure the culprit kept his yawns quiet in the future.

Yeah, I feel kind of bad for professor. I hate when students keep messing around during lecture classes which it’ll affect them to become distracted and not able to graduate. This is a real world, is not about messing around or playing jokes, is about studying and learning to help us expand our knowledge. As an computer science student, I need to be prepare myself to pass degree plan classes (Calculus 1, College Physics, etc.) in order to have important skills for me. Remember, this is not a joke, it is very important to be responsible and mature.

I thought he was out of line to yell at the entire class simply because a student yawned too loud. Sounds like someone who shouldn't be teaching a course in a university where people pay thousands of dollars a year in tuition! I had a teacher in junior high who would slam his hand on your desk if he caught you sleeping in class. Somehow, this brought me back to those days.

This actually was one of the first real videos I saw of a college professor, and things like this genuinely scared me for college. Got through my first semester and my professor were the people I would genuinely converse with and treated you with respect instead of blowing up on everyone as soon as something mildly inconvenienced them, wow 💀

I definitely yawned in some college classes, not overly loud or in these big theater classrooms, just normal classrooms, but even then, the professors didn’t care or stop their lectures to tell me to leave if I’m going to yawn and then make a big deal about it to the rest of the students like its elementary or that yawning is a war crime.
