Meowscarada is adorable, I love that even though they are bipedal they still behave and move just like a cat (and they Naruto run, which is absolutely hilarious and adorable)

Gen 9 is the first gen where i dont like the water starter and yes i know its based off of like a specific type of dancer if i remember correctly but its not really my thing but i do love Meeowscarada its a magic weed cat and to those who expected it to be on all 4 where pretty blind to the fact the middle stage evo wasnt (should have been a big enough hit it was gonna stay on bipedal) i do get the hate for the litten line as the middle starter was on all 4 so you would expect it to stay on all 4 in the final evo but if the second evo is on 2 legs they should not be complaining

The cute weed cat turns into El Gato con Botas (french fairytale about a spanish trickster cat) and finally becomes a Mascarada/ Bal Masque jester Iberian Lynx with a Fleur de Lis motif. On top of being the Joker of the spanish cards deck. Older than the worldwide known British one.

You know what’s funny? In Japan, Meowscarda came in 3rd in the popularity poll for Popular Paldean, which would make this the most popular Final Evolution Paldean Starter in Japan.


So most of the hateful overreaction is from the Western Side of the Pokemon Community.

I guess Meowscarada (and I guess also along with technically Quaquaval too) will join the ranks of the group/faction of Starter Pokemon that despite the gender ratio, their design plus theme-origin heavily implies them to being Female Pokemon; just like they did with Delphox and Primarina
