My favorite Primarch will always be Rogal Dorn, but the Lion is up there. I think it’s that they are both knightly archetypes.

Not read the arks of omen stories yet, but I REALLY like this pragmatic Lion more than I do the reborn avenging son if I'm honest. Then again I'm kind of a sucker for Athurian legends... he did pull a sword from a stone :)

Meh, a lot of bad and lazy writing in this book. I mean, it's cool to have the Lion back, but couldn't they afford an actually good writer?! What a lost opportunity for actually good storytelling....what a dissapointment.

I don't remember any of the primarchs being playable in previous editions of warhammer 40k. Correct me if I am wrong; I didn't play in the Rogue Trader days.
This means that when people say the primarchs have "returned" to 40k, what they really mean is that their characters have been updated in the lore to be present. Before 9th edition, they've always just been characters in the background of the IP.

It probably has to do with what people mean when they say "40k". Most people probably refer to the entire franchise, IP, and everything all at once when they say this. My brain defaults to the tabletop game when I hear it.

I'd say that the primarchs are new to 40k, even though the characters they are supposed to represent are old to the lore.
