So uh, what exactly does "the CAP line" mean?

Enemy penetrating the cap line is for sure PW's Attack The D Point
ОтветитьForeshadowing Dip & Comic's identities were intentional. I know you would sin it for being dropped out of nowhere if they didn't forshadow it.
Ответить<<Stick with the CAP Line, you'll make it>>
Ответить"Did Project Wingman just RickRoll us?"
The funniest part is that airship is actually named Robert Astley.
"I seriously tried my hardest to shoot down as many missiles as I could, both in my first playthrough and in the footage you're watching, and I couldn't do it. No one can. Not on the first playthrough with normal aircraft."
Even if you modify the weapon reload times and ammunition, it's still impossible to prevent the domino effect that triggered the second Calamity. The Pacific Federation sent so many cordium-tipped cruise missiles that the second Calamity happens anyway solely because of all that cordium reacting upon itself.
"There are no late game 2 seaters" there is a simple solution, be a mad lad and fly the tomcat (F-14) the second you get your hands on it.
ОтветитьY'know, I kinda like the idea of the ending not changing whether you live or die.
A Monarch and a Mad usurper, fighting over the ruins of a destroyed kingdom? Kinda cool.
This was a fun game to play, but the story was distractingly bad at so many moments. The final battle with Crimson1 trying to gaslight me into thinking the games' events were my fault was just the cherry on top of me not wanting to play it again for the story.
ОтветитьEnemy penetrating CAP line...
ОтветитьFor the sin about it being day three of the contract at Rosdower, I think they got signed on for the job while they were still in Louisiana and it took them three days to get out to Rosdower, so first mission but not first day of the job.
ОтветитьIn my understanding, the whole plot is about how war keeps escalating when unstoppable force hits the immovable object - morale and goals become blurred, fighting getting more and more pointless till it eventually couldn't be settled because there's always someone who will go fighting on for sake of fighting. You're not a hero to the story, you're just caught in it, if not actually made everything worse - without Sicario and Monarch in particular, Federation would've steamrolled the Cascadia within weeks, and though it might be morally bad, that would've just returned the status quo without massive victims and destruction. The whole point of final fight is that it's pointless, it changes nothing, fighting for Cascadia is over, Federation is bleeding, neither of you has a power to change what's coming next, you just do what you do best - kill for money.
Crimson isn't wannabe Pixy, he's anti-Pixy, he isn't a mercenary who questioned his ways and the established world order, he's a fanatic who's falling from the height of his ego deeper and deeper into the denial to keep the existing order in place or at least damage everyone who's against it as much as he can.
The problem is that those ideas weren't properly developed and delivered, but tbh every Ace Combat game plot suffers from the similar issues to an extent, trying to punch too much above its weight - delivery was there sometimes, ideas were still undercooked and didn't went beyond the safe space in any meaningful way, devolving into something like "peace is good, war is bad" in the end. After all, Ace Combat never had a consistent believable story to begin with, it's ridiculous in its own right and the part of fun is that you willingly buying into this tomfoolery, it's more like an ancient Greek theatre full of plot devices and over the top symbolism than an actual cinematic experience, and Project Wingman is not that different in this regard, you shouldn't take anything too seriously if it doesn't go beyond the world building, and I pretty much believe that the ending like this could play out in The World On Fire.
My everything wrong with project wingman (not applicable to PS): There’s no frontline 59
ОтветитьFunny how this video and i dunno if it was Max0r's or Rimmy's, but another video on a similar tone, have the complete opposite opinion on the ending, this video concluded that the ceasefire was an amazing ending and Crimson is stupid, the other video concluded the ceasefire would have been dissapointing and Crimson is a great goofy final boss for a goofy game
ОтветитьMy thoughts on the final fight against Crimson 1 are mostly related to how Project Wingman subverts clichés and expectations set up by Ace Combat. PW doesn't start with a “shoot down the bombers” mission like most AC games. It's a mix of both air and ground targets. Airships aren't just reserved for boss missions, they're common things used by both sides. PW also doesn't have any time limits. But then there's the twist final mission. After playing Ace Combat enough, you learn to expect them. They're either “destroy a superweapon” or “epic final boss dogfight.” Project Wingman could have subverted expectations by just ending with Presidia, and could have had a better story.
There's also the story standpoint, which I fully agree with. The Project Wingman Mk. 1 was first at Harkema, where it was flown off to Sawaiiki. Then, it gets flown off to the Federation Core when a bunch of mercs are doing a surprise attack against Task Force 1 while in port. Crimson 1 shouldn't have access to the PW-Mk1. He gets SHOT DOWN in an EXTREMELY HOT ENVIRONMENT with an ACTIVE VOLCANO. Even if he were to have ejected, he most likely would have died.
The only good things about Kings to me are the music and coming back with either the PW-Mk1 or SP-34R and absolutely shredding through Crimson 1.
Also yeah that ending was a fat oof, though i have a very charitable interpretation
YKnow how you mentioned the game from a fundamental level would break the 4th wall at particularly the 15th mission when the cruise missiles started flying? As well as other moments where it completely goes tits up like with the first fight against Frost when those Railguns start firing off like they're right from the AC6 CFA, and literally everything just continues on as normal as if this ISNT a complete "What in the shit is happening right now" moment?
Thats kinda what i got from the ending, in the sense that the game is also breaking the 4th wall in a fundamental level and is flat out saying "Yeah, you signed on as a Merc, you did your job, you got your McGuffin Paycheck Extreme Edition, thats what you wanted right?"
Granted im also being very charitable since i do believe this could've been done in a much more satisfying manner but still, its not a bad way to view it imo
Sin 200. Technically being a mercenary is a violation of the UN Mercenary convention, but there are enough legal minutia and technicalities that PMCs can legal operate as long as they’re just providing “security” or “Mission support” but Sicario would be illegal IRL.
ОтветитьIt's actually 60 minutes or more this video
ОтветитьNot sure how many people know, but apparently Project Wingman has no checkpoints because the 3 devs couldn’t figure out how to implement them.
ОтветитьYou do realize if you want to hit cording extractors you don’t need to do a tunnel run… right?
Ответить"All of Prez's lines will reverse the count anyway"
You're goddamned right
It wasn't a secret that Diplomat and Comic were cascadian, it's who exactly they were before becoming mercenaries, right?
ОтветитьThe whole Cascadia gaining and losing territory in Magadan is explained in Frontline 59
ОтветитьLove the video, such a sick game
Ответитьacknowledging that Prez is the greatest wingman in all of media, I like it.
ОтветитьThere was another line of dialouge after the 20 bullet point lines that said why are they blowing up there resources and the other fed said because you were using it I was hoping you would include it
ОтветитьI think Stardust is a reference to the eponymous track from the Ace Combat 04: Shattered Skies OST.
ОтветитьNot trying to be smug but being a mercenary is a war crime. I don’t think it exists in project wingman but in like 95% of the world mercenaries are technically illegal but you can get around it by being a Private Security Company and sell protection or security as a service. So basically you can pay a PMC to protect an important asset is fine. But just saying hey I got money for you if you fight for me is illegal.
ОтветитьThe Federetion Logistics is.... Something
Ответитьwill there be another for frontline59?
ОтветитьSin didnt hear the "eat my ass galaxy voice line"
ОтветитьWith the release of the Frontline 59 finally coming on pc there was an update and patches to main game, mainly QOL, that's great except when they are adding sins that could fit in that video. In mission 4 when the Feds ask who is the commander they are fighting for, the subtitle now shows them as enemy Cascadian soldiers while in the clip of this video we can clearly see it is correctly labeled as Fed soldiers.
The sin of Crimson 1 talking to Comic and Diplomat can be explain by either open frequency OR that Master Goose give the feds the frequency of Sicario, since he should know it after three mission with them. But I'm more for the first option, makes more sense
The sin of us still attacking the fleet despite the Eminant Domain asking them to surrender is completly unvalid now due to devs having add a line where the enemy captain immediatly answer by "Cut all communications with the enemy fleet" followed by the Eminant Domain answering "Was worth the try dammit."
During the Cold War mission, one ally pilot is mentioning hoping of shooting down five planes. This clearly is a small reference to the policy of Yellow Squadron declaring you an ace if you shot five plane down. It either deserves a sin off or being praised, especially if it comes in the massive dogfight mission.
A sin on how the f Monarch survived the nuke on Presidia when everyone else doesn't is deserved because just to bring us in the last 1v1 without distraction it doesn't make even the shadow of a sense, if Monarch survived, then at least Comic, Diplomat or even Galaxy (which is an AWACS so far away from combat) should have too.
Speaking of the last mission, I would had LOVED to be able to answer Crimson 1 directly just to taunt him back by saying "Only thousand year? Your body will NEVER be dug up again when I'm done with you" (can also be foreshadowing for what will happen to him) but mainly to ask "Who drop the nuke on this city again? You, so then explain how is this my fault since I'm not the one having pressed any release button for it" and also saying that if he cared about his wingmen, why he simply didn't ask them to leave the battle as soon as he spotted us above Prospero? Hell, even AC6 antagonist made the all Strigon team retreat and "fly as far as their fuel allowed" to quote him before fighting us personaly. It would had made the fight above Prospero shorter sure, but just give three healthbar to Crimson 1 to make it fair as well as making him look like he ACTUALLY care for his wingmen
