So, as I got asured from the comments, there are empty heads, that are ready and even happy to use the hard history of their country in such a "light" (they call this "ironic"), entertaining way. 27 millions of dead in the Great Patriotic War (WW2), about 11 millions of the Soviet Army soldiers, about 3,5 millions of them were communists. Definitelly the best ground for "satire" and "self-irony".

I think you are missing the joke and irony. It is from Red Alert 3 , a command and conquer game. It's supposed to be heavy.

dude this is the theme from a comedic video game made in 2008. It's supposed to be a parody. The game had other factions like the US and Japan, who were also sent up. Plus also this version is not a cover but a karaoke version using the composer's original orchestral track and a Russian singing over it. You are taking the track way too seriously. In an interview the composer once he said he wrote this in just 3 hours, like any other cue he worked on out of thousands for different projects.

I don’t know who recommended this track to you without any annotation. This is the soundtrack to the game, the composer is American, the original lyrics are mostly gibberish. Russians would never sing or play like that to themselves.
Oleg Abramov, the lead singer of the cover, has “combed” the text and made it beautiful, but it’s still impossible to take this music seriously :)
This is a clear example of how Russians find it funny how they are perceived in the West. "Terrible" Soviet Union and a little self-irony :)

Я не знаю, кто вам рекомендовал этот трек без каких-либо аннотаций. Это саундтрек к игре, композитор американец, оригинальные тексты по большей части тарабарщина. Русские никогда бы о себе такое не пели и не играли.
Олег Абрамов, солист кавера, "причесал" текст и сделал его красивым, но воспринимать эту музыку всерьез все равно невозможно :)

This is song from american game, where USSR show from very western point of view. Song sound epic, but original song sound very unpleasant way. I mean lyrics has no thing close to real communistic and soviet ideology, even opposite. Beeing translated by Oleg it became little bit batter, but still sounds wrong
