The Gambler 2014 | A Degenerate Gambler

I won two hundred bucks at an Indian casino. The 4 guys I went with were all heavy gamblers- I was unemployed at the time. They all pissed away over a thousand bucks a piece and got loaded as hell. I ended up driving us all to my buddy's cabin and buying midnight eats and breakfast. I never wanted to gamble, just drink beer and fish. Anyway, I watched them empty checking accounts at the ATM many times over the years. It just seems so foolish. At least with drugs and booze you get wasted.

This is a great movie with an amazing ending..HOWEVER this scene is absolute trash compared to the original movie scene with James Caan. That one has Mahler as the background music and the "Give me the 3" reaction by Caan is riveting.

That is the harsh reality of gambling, the way I see it is you have already lost it before you even spent it, don’t consider gambling as a way to make money because it’s not, yeah you win here and there but they will always get it back off you one way or another, why do you think there all so rich and we are not ? The rich get richer and the poorer get poorer that’s how it’s always been and will never change

He’s smart. He could learn how to count cards and give himself a better advantage. But counting is probably too slow and boring for him. He couldn’t handle the grind of counting.

Nobody seems to understand that he's not a Gambler, he's seeking life & gambling is the closest thing to feeling alive until her. After that final bet it sets him free & he realizes that she is the real love, she's what makes him feel alive & he runs to her, his soulmate.

I have lived this life. I still do to this day. Many can not handle the swings being up one minute on top of the world and the next you're broke and you say the hell with it so you risk everything you loose respect for money because if you can't have everything you ever wanted it doesn't matter.When you hate yourself for every mistake you have ever made its hard. I barely remember my wins but i never forget my losses.Emotions run high and when emotions are involved you tend to do things you normally don't. When I'm away from a casino at work I'm productive, smart, steadfast but when I'm in a casino i become a monster it turns me into the one person i had hoped i had never become but you get caught up in the Money, the glitz, the entertainment, the adrenaline, the moment, because that's what's important to you and no one can tell you different.

What a screw up ! I knew I guy like that one time...pissed it all away....his life, too.
