Gothic Remake - Gameplay Demo No Commentary [HD 1080P]

Combat - the inbred child of "for honor" and chivalry2.
Movement - not gothic at all. More like the distant cousin of assassins creed.
Inventory and quest system - not gothic at all, dumbed down, too explanatory, artwork too modern. Not enough gothic.

This is just gothic arcania under different clothes. As a lifetime gothic fan im not buying this

If the don’t use the same map layout and stick to the original colony this will blow it for me. I would be happy to see this come at least close to original map

Intro is ugly exept the orc that looks scary. And don't tell me they cut women slaves because of trigger reasons. Also nameless hero past was ambiguous but leaning on the dindu nothin side.

Gothic 1&2 were in my top 5 games as a kid. So happy to see a remake. I hope they worked on the combat though cause I'm not impressed at all.

Aaah, ooooh, uuuuh, aaah, aah, eeeeh ,ooooh , ah, eeeeh, ooooh, ouch, ouuuuu, au, eeeeh….wether talking or moaning, this protagonist never shuts his mouth, hate him already….

Why was the guard so weak?
Why is the combat so slow?
Why can't he pick up the sword from the guard?
Why is Diego's armor so open? And why is his dialogue so cringe?
Why so many unskippable scripted events / cutscenes?
Why no 'Welcome to the Colony'?
etc.

the combat system is so trash! what is this? Dont buy this. You will be heavily disappointed if you do! The graphics have to much bloom, the lights are way to flashy and the pointless added stuff , like explosion at the start , the useless very long dialogue with diego at the start, what is this? This is not a remake. It is a new Gothic "1" with today's standards. Oh no....

- cutscene blackouts are total out of place
- killing a snapper at the beginning should be too hard to accomplish
- armor is too good for a slave
- a little bit of too much tooltips
- other that these looks very promising but those original Gothic elemnts really a must have to be challenging and a loveable game

How did a level 0 character killed a Snapper?? I used to die to Scavangers all the time ! Snappers were really late game animals

Gothic is about exploring and inspecting every single inch of the map.

I don’t like remakes as they often lose the original games vision they should of just did a remaster.

The game looks great, love the fighting, get the hand holding out, remember to excruciatingly hand craft everything no random loot generator, don't forget the harsh consequences and you can keep the difficulty options for new players that might suck in this type of games but never get rid of the original difficulty. The acting I don't care since the og va for the main character died anyway so don't listen to haters about the acting the og voice acting was crap, but they are right about everyone in the game being harsh with you so......

The one beta that everyone was glad didn't get released.

The game needs a more opressive and dark environment, the music of Rosenkranz and the old Nameless Hero. But it is amazing to see my favourite game of the childhood in a remake. Thanks

Was very interested in trying Gothic because I've heard so many positive things about it. I came to check out this video and read how negative the comments are, so I'll be staying away from this version. It's too bad because the original is looking very outdated and I've heard it's challenging to get used to the controls. I wanted the hardcore experience though - not another cliche fantasy game. I don't know how a developer can remake a game without understanding what players loved about it. They should be your primary target audience.

Even though I had read enough of the comments to know it wasn't worth my lifetime, I still wanted to give it a shot. I was unable to continue after the first five minutes. Why the hell did you do that? Have youy ever play Gothic? Why does the main character talk to himself so much while trying to act cool? You created a Gothic for morons, right?

for some reason i didnt like the combat, looks like a for honor but the characther doesnt seen to be looking at the enemy like in a fight, the combat is also slow and robotic. The graphics looks nice at least and the hud too, didnt like the health and stamina bar, it could be more clean and give this information on the characther movement like the last of us 1 does.

So combat is just For Honor's rock paper scissors system? Ugh
