No brainer... The r1 device costs $200 vs $1500 right now. It does what you tell it without having to devise a complex prompt.
It completes the tasks in seconds instead of hours of monkey trawling through several apps.
It completes a task without coming back with "I am not trained with data past September 2022"
Yes you can double check it's results and ask it to tweak them, as the guy did in keynote speech, in seconds.

If anything one of the big smartphone names might buy rabbit os out and integrate it into their own ecosystem 🤷‍♂️ but then I'll have to pay $1500 for something that was $200🤷‍♂️
Nothing wrong with having two cheaper, smaller devices in my pocket... One which is aimed at getting tasks done quickly without fuss and another aimed at entertainment....

Still $200 vs $1500 for a real AI🤔

When you have to tell siri to read back requested information when Google assistance does it without telling it..we can probably slow down on calling it a killer of anything.

I don't think voice control will ever be the future. It's a niche, not a lifestyle feature. I think the only possible next leap that could replace phones is thought driven devices, which most likely will only ever be possible with cyberwear unless you can somehow just from skin contact have that sort of technology. The issue lies in that in order to type fast or support or phone up against a book to watch movies that it all requires a physical shell with a minimum amount of weight. If you have a screen projected in front of you you won't have anything to rest your fingers on when typing and it actually becomes quite tiresome to do really quickly, try it yourself by typing into the air as if you had a keyboard floating there. It's just not the future. These sci-fi ideas we have are cool in concept, but in reality it doesn't really get more practical than a phone. So just like this video says, phones aren't going away anytime soon, but instead it won't be long before we can do so much more with our phones than we can now, like let's say, project a 3D hologram of a person while talking to them, or have a AI have a fully structured schedule ready for us every day and with a interface that make it easy for us to execute. Those types of leaps are the future, and after that, cyberwear. We are already so optimized in our practical hardware that the next leap most likely is cyberwear. Makes you realize that we are already in that sci-fi dream, we have the tech, it's just not practical 😂

I don’t know I think you’re discounting the part of rabbit R1’s claim, if it really can take action, then it would be more superior than ChatGPT. Not saying Siri or Assistant won’t get there the question is how long would it take? Whereas I can spend $200 in a couple months and potentially want to maybe even more years ahead of Apple in Google. Another consideration, this application would be great for commercial business not necessarily regular every day use.

You’re wrong with your assumptions… people are actually tired of apps ecosystem. User adoption was extremely difficult to achieve when iPhone came out. The App Store was being trashed in the media…. You’re having the wrong conversation about these devices…. You’re a chump and don’t understand the impact of technology on people.

I'd love a fun, cheap and small gadget to take me away from my phone, I'd love a mix between a tamagotchi and a GPT, more like a game or a pet with physical buttons and even other creative physical characteristics that takes me away from the sterile and overcrowded environment of my smartphone. Something that I dont have to have next to me at all times, but whenever I take it, I feel something other than a screen that doesn't give me much physical feedback or soul. Honestly phones now days are boring, you can do basically the same with the cheapest and the most expensive one, so I for sure would buy something that makes me feel like I actually have some piece of actually fun technology in my hands, something focused on innovation instead of raw power. So, I think there is a market for this, but it shouldn't try step on the smartphone's toes.

Too many of the arguments made against the R1 here are very specific reaches. I also completely disagree that people’s biggest pain point with phones are voice assistants. People’s biggest pain point with phones are phones. More than ever, people feel like phones are increasingly taking up their time rather than helping them be productive. Phones are quite literally being used engineered to keep you on them as long as possible and people are starting to see the effects of that on their social lives and physical and mental well being. An alternative to the modern phone can’t come soon enough for many people.

The Rabbit is a disruption. So was the humane pin. Each is getting closer to what will be the successor to the smartphone. I agree the Rabbit is probably not quite there yet. The next iteration could be the one. You are saying that will come from Apple. And it might. We are due a new Apple gadget. Either way I predict it won't be an iPhone with a new or better feature. The phone has too much baggage that will become superfluous. It might be a souped up Apple Watch, but with a small slim pocket version, so not a watch. Eventually it will be a neural interface, but that is at least two generations of gadget away IMO. And it might be the next Rabbit. I really hope it is. We need a new player to emerge. It’s overdue. They will need evangalists too. Be the next Guy Kawasaki. You are very good at it.

But to me, I really would wait to to see what those voice assistants companies of Siri, Alexa and Google Assistant to see if they would actually in real life to include chat GPT to the functions, but if not I will still feel like they would still be much more steps behind Microsoft Co-Pilot, Google Bard with they could use newer versions of Chat GPT which could be faster to grow stronger and be more smart then the mobile voice assistants that we use today.

All in all, excellent points! I was literally on the tipping point of potentially pulling the trigger on one of these until I watched this! I can't imagine that Apple is too far behind on integrating this same AI platform into Siri. It just takes some time with Apple with their anal ways. But it will get there, you know it will. I think Apple is more than likely working on a iphone 18 or so with all this technology built into it!

I think you’re spot on about all this but there’s one key element I can’t help but think about and that’s the regulations and restrictions being put on ai. We can safely say that Rabbit R1 doesn’t use GPT so there’s a good chance I can have it help me in ways GPT can’t and despite me having the Rabbit R1 on pre order there’s noway I would ever stop using GPT anyways. It’s part of my daily life and work now. But the companion piece until Apple does it better and more efficient which I’m sure they will dropping $200 for now really isn’t so bad to increase productivity in the mean time. I say it’s worth it because of it’s affordable
