Cannot express in words the impact this album had in my formative years. Thank you Orbital

I just learned that "Time becomes" is an homage by Orbital to the seminal/influential tape composition "Come Out" by Steve Reich, in 1966. Reich is one of my favorite composers. Fantastically great/cheeky reference. All the more reason to appreciate this.

Happy 30th anniversary! Haven’t heard this in full before, but now I got a good excuse.

Classic techno. Can't be beaten.

What an album. Actually, this was an essay in modern classical electronic music (like Steve Reich's minimalist works). A true piece of art. After the introductions, a series of connected long tracks serve as an extended Theme & Variations (similar to those found in Brahms Paganini, Beethoven Diabelli etc). Absolutely astounding music, then, and now.
