wow I randomly watched this because I saw you use cake strips in another video and omg! I didn't know the difference they do! No wonder my moms cake sponges always looked burnt on the sides like this haha. Now I know!
Ответитьthis is a little like a water bath used for cheesecake
ОтветитьI love using cake strips and they really work. BUT CAN YOU OLEASE TELL ME WHY I CANT GET LIGHT COLORED CAKES LIKE YOURS PLEASE???? I use high quality light colored cake pans but I always get a dark outside crust on vanilla cakes and this makes it very hard to fully cover when frosting. I hate to have to trim the entire outside edges when they are beautifully even. Any advice would be appreciated!
ОтветитьThank you!👍👍👍🎂 🎂 🎂
ОтветитьDid Wilton give you some $$? They totally should!! Amazing hack!
ОтветитьHi, how long after baking should I let it cool down before taking it out of the pan?
ОтветитьGreat I can’t wait to try this technique. One question. How are you keeping the top moist too? Surely the top would go brown?
ОтветитьI just learn about cake strips last year.I have been cooking for years. I didn’t realized it had to be wet before putting it around the pan.I guess I never read the instructions.shame on me. I just love watching your videos, I learned so much from you.
ОтветитьThks for this visual guide video. I do have cake strips and never used them. Now I’m convinced that it works
ОтветитьThaaaaank you 🤣
ОтветитьI did everything that you did. I even got the same color pans. The recipe came out beautifully. It was light fluffy, and tasted very good. But my cake still stuck. What did I do wrong?
ОтветитьNever heard of them before but gonna give them a go on my practice cakes as I have two kids getting married and I’m making their cakes so looking for tips to make it easy and better. This is a great one
ОтветитьAny alternate for sour cream.?can I use curd or butter milk.?
ОтветитьTHANKS
ОтветитьI was taught many years ago in a bakery, to cut strips of material from an old clean towel, wet them then use clothes pins to attach the towel strips to the sides of the cake pans. Best tip ever!!
ОтветитьI tried it and it seemed like it was working, but when i took it out to test if it was done. it started to dome and the foil had puffed up. Was my paper towel not wet enough? Also, I baked it at 350F. Should I go down on the temp?
Ответить🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯
Ответить" I don't do that because my cakes are moist" - Love it!! 👏🏿👏🏿
ОтветитьThis was amazing thank you so much!!
ОтветитьCan this be done with a Bundt Cake Pan?
ОтветитьWish I saw this before I put them in the oven, but will try next time!!
ОтветитьI’ve used bar towels wet for the cake strips
ОтветитьMay I please ask why you’re opting for melted / nearly melted butter? I’m so used to your room-temp butter demonstrations, and this melted situation surprised me. Thank you so much!
ОтветитьCould cake strips work for an 8x8 of brownies, too?
ОтветитьI will definitely try this. ♥
ОтветитьIf i want to add oil instead of butter how much oil should i add to this recipie?
ОтветитьTried it… works like a charm 😊
ОтветитьThanks for the tip my first cake came out beautiful.
ОтветитьYOU ARE AMAZING!!! first time in my life and i got a cake with no burning sides! i will buy the strips for sure
ОтветитьLove your cake strips suggestion. Always makes beautiful layers with soft edges that don't require trimming. I now use cake strips for my cheesecakes as well. Amazon has strips that fit various sizes of spring form pans. Thank you, John.
ОтветитьI’m super impressed how well this worked and today was my first time ever making a cake. 😂 Granted, it was box cake but whatever. I made your buttercream recipe with a hand mixer and I was so tired I just put everything in the fridge and will decorate tomorrow. It’s super delicious though. I put strawberry sauce that I made into the buttercream. I’m going to make chocolate buttercream tomorrow.
ОтветитьRelax bro. Over dramatising much?
ОтветитьNever heard of it
ОтветитьThanks for sharing, I will try it
ОтветитьWould you happen to know if this method would work as well with non-round pans? I’ll be baking number 80 cake using Wilton’s rectangle/number dark pan for my friend’s mom next week 😊
ОтветитьI have never heard of such a thing. Who knew?
ОтветитьCan I also apply this concept to my loaf pans? I've been having this exact problem with my banana bread and pumpkin loaf.
Ответитьwouldn’t the paper towel burn in the oven?
ОтветитьThese are amazing. Excellent tip.
ОтветитьI was taught by my grandmother to lower the cooking temp in the oven and increase the cooking time. The cake cooks much more evenly
ОтветитьDoes that batter recipe make three six inch cakes? In the video it looks like 6” pans… or is that recipe per cake?
ОтветитьOh wise Master Baker, you have taught me something as important as when I first learned abt Swiss Meringue Buttercream. This trick will be used on every cake I bake, for the rest of my baking days. Thank you for another great lesson.
ОтветитьI have been using cake strips for 15 years
ОтветитьWow.been caking for over 50 years.never heard of this. Were is not cotton fabric .lol
ОтветитьTried this out, and turned out amazing! Tysm for the tip!
ОтветитьOk I used the tin foil version, pretty wet paper towels, & my cake is still pretty domed. Definitely not flat 😢
ОтветитьI don’t cut my cakes and no one ever commented or complained. I’m the sad “sacrificed” cake 🎂 lol but now…maybe just maybe I’ll do all that.
ОтветитьThis is amazing 👏
ОтветитьI've never heard of these stripes. I will give them a try!
