Realistically if you want full penetration and dont wanna grind the joint for a keyhole weld, just do vertical down. 1 pass really fast continuous weld to seal the gap (could weld cold or hot based off talent but it should lay in underfilled due to penetration) and then put a cap over it at normal temps for thickness. That way you dont have to do this dab bs🤣
