What size of boat ?

Hi, all the way from Edinburgh, Scotland. My problem is outboard doesnt lock up, as in if i put it into reverse the outboard comes out the water, id appreciate any ideas.

Hi, I am bc a total novice and got my Merc’ 9.9 4 stroke yesterday - it’s a 2018 model. I started it 1st time , but then can’t start it again. It is on a stand, water attached etc. Have I flooded it inadvertently? Any tips or advice please?

The 9.9 Merc 4 cycles have an accelerator pump, and each twist of the throttle floods the engine with a shot of gasoline. Don't flood the engine, with or without the engine running.

I know that looks like a quick and easy way to tilt the motor, but, personally, I would not push down on the tiller to tilt my motor. Maybe If I was only out every once in a while, but, I go out a lot, so wouldn’t want to put undue stress on the tiller. And, if your prop has some weeds on it, you’re just looking for trouble. I’d rather just put the gear in Forward and grab the back of the cowling and pull forward to the desired tilt angle.

Should you have the motor tilted up or dropped down when trailering or using the launching wheels?

I have a question for you sir. The LX 380 with 20hp will be more than what I need or want. But I don't understand why all air boat companies don't feature their boat with the max power engine. After all the LX 380 is rated to accept the 30hp motor. But you only show that boat with 10 or 20hp. I don't get it. And it's all of them who do that as well, not just you. Is the 30hp rating a bit too optimistic?
