First Drive: 2024 Acura Integra Type S - Jay Leno's Garage

Went to try to buy one. Wanted to love it. Low rent interior for $53k. I passed. If it were closer the the Type R price it would make a lot more sense.

I love Honda and their offspring BUT this Type S is going for $ 60,00+ at dealers. Maybe if I won the lottery.

Acura has the best looking cars on the road right now. Their interiors are classy, not chintzy. I have an MDX (can't get down into cars anymore) and I LOVE it!

They blew it with not doing it only as a coupe. Way to pricey for what? Fancy gadgets? Nah I’m ok.. I’ll take the motor/ecu and trans and maybe the seats and brakes. That’s all. Cool video tho.

The AMG 45 gets 420bhp from the same engine configuration. 320s good, but not class leading these days

You should do the interview in the shop amd drive alone so you can be honest and tell us the Pros AND the Cons of the car.

The rep had the understated confidence I associate with Honda.

Maybe it's time to finally upgrade from my manual transmission Acura RSX. Do wish it came in a 2 or 3 door version, though. That Acura factory rep was smart, really knew his stuff. And they are right, Honda really does make the best shifters.

Not a particularly good looking car

2 things:
1. "Type-S" was never used by Acura until the 2000s, not the 90s
2. Not all Acuras are made in Marysville.

I think Acura should have made the Integra a two doors design style also it should rear wheels drive or All wheel drive with head's up display gauges last but not lease the Integra looking nice 🐱🎉 interior and exterior with those three pieces 4inches tail pipes it's not bad 😅🎉😂

I’m ngl. I don’t like it. just looks like everything else out. It’s cool that it’s a car built more for enthusiasts but the car just looks like a soulless aerodynamic copy of every other car out now

Just wish they went rwd for these. With BMWs being so ugly these cars could’ve been the new 3 series and even better considering turbo tech with little 4 cylinders so you can get the hp, tune ability and the mpg when driving it easy. Would’ve been so much better balanced and would’ve made these a huge hit.

Still wouldn’t buy it because a used f82 (uglier f80 is the sedan equivalent) M4 is way better in ever regard except not having new car smell and even though it’s fwd… I do like it.

"320hp for 50k is a great level" 😂😂 wtf the 4 cyl mustang has 315 HP fior 30,900$. The big brother starts at 42k and 480hp that's a much better deal hp to dollar . This is way overpriced in my opinion but with all that said I still like the way it looks and sounds.

Real drivers drive manuals fact! As a Honda fab boy who is very jealous we don't get the Integra in the UK anymore 😞 I have an old Honda Civic FN2 Type R GT and the manual gearbox to me is legendary is what we call the rifle bolt. It's the smiles per miles.

If Jay has to ask if the steering is either hydraulic or electric, and the answer is electric, must mean that electric steering has met an acceptable threshold!

Love this video Jay. From daily driving an original 95’ integra, manual transmission. These new acuras with original Honda engines are a great extension. These Japanese vehicles are awesome.
