Yes I remember going to Farrell’s opening of his show at Max Protetch in 1979. I saw it after a late Guston show at the Barbizon Hotel at McKee’s. Both shows made a big impression on me then. I also went to Farrell’s studio at that time but have only connected with him through Facebook and Instagram since then. It’s great that he now has this show. His work reminds me more of Gandy Brodie’s than Soutine’s or Auerbach’s. Thank you Kate.

Thank you Kate! I was hoping you would cover the Farrell Brickhouse show and glad you did. I'm a fan of his work. Although I am somewhat familiar with the Harry Who, Karl Wirsum is an artist I was not really familiar with. So it was interesting to see the recent shows. The shaped Karl Wirsum painting - have you heard the word/bird - made me think a little bit of Elizabeth Murray. Thanks for your half ass reporting! Always a pleasure to watch.
