Even though the 2008 one had comedy at it’s peak with a good message in my eyes, I’d say both adaptations are good in their one way

Fun fact, the mountain that Horton chases Vlad on (2008) is the mountain of the grinch as a easter egg.

I’m so glad blue-sky gave Dr. Suess the treatment it deserves. None of that low-budget crap you get from illumination, Blue Sky really gave it their all with this one. And it will always have a place in my heart as one if my favorite animated movies, just because of the attention to detail and comedic moments.

And yes, I thought the anime joke was funny.

Hans Conried makes a WAY better Horton than Jim Carrey - Conried's Horton is gentle and innocent, but not dimwitted. I don't think Carrey understands the difference. The best Horton of all, of course, was Kevin Chamberlin in Seussical the Musical.

The score had no right to be as spectacular as it was for Blue Sky’s version. One of John Lowell’s best scores, I feel it’s so overlooked.

what's interesting about the story of this movie is, it's the best example of our existence as a whole... we're like the WHO, and we thought we're the only one existed but we never know that our universe as we believe is just a mere speck of dust to something that is bigger, like Horton's
