I like BMWs for their performance. However. The sub frame on the back of my E46 M3 starting tearing away from the body ripping it apart. And my coworkers F800 GT single sided swingarm hub ground itself into the swingarm destroying all the parts. The repair costs almost salvaged the bike. And my other coworkers 325i burned down his house when the fuel line burst in his garage. My 635 blew a teflon seal on the transmission loosing first gear. NEVER AGAIN!! stay away from these high performance pieces of garbage.

A tad more highly engineered than the 750 Norton Commando I rode n the late 60's and early 70's. Wish I had that bike back!

This is why I bought an R 1250 GS... well this and the tele-lever front suspension... and the hill start assist... shift assist pro...dynamic dampening...synced brakes...shaft drive... 7 riding modes... I could go on but it's probably not necessary. ;)

mechanical precision, well dimensioned and described standard tasks for Production, high precision machines, robots, excellent mechanical design. German brand image

This is one reason why bmw bikes routinely chalk up more miles than just about any bike brand.

As the owner of a K1600, I really must get to Berlin (Spandau) and take the tour.

G'day from Australia, My bike has a BMW R1200RS 9/2017 exterior, ,and a K50 on the plate, so what model crash bars should I order ?

Built to the same bullet proof quality as the early R80 Air heads? No!

Has to be one of the quietest, most uneventful factories I've seen.

Made in China, assembled in Germany.

Great workmanship, and production facility and the video production.
Although, I did not get to see some of the crucial aspects / parts of the bike building processes, and am aware of their intention to not show it in the open. Only makes sense.
Overall an amazing Appetizer of what BMW menu can offer to the world.

They wring them out on the dyno during assembly and then we have to baby it during break-in

There is an amazing level of satisfaction watching these bikes getting assembled .

So much of investment is there in setting up all these manufacturing and assembling plant .
