Did you really put the sticker over your phone camera? Literally no one I saw did this, this afternoon at the Saturday matinee, and we were all taking photos of the stage. Whatever happened to rebellious youth? I was up in the Upper Circle, back of Row D, mind you, where no usher dared to venture, so it's possible they were stricter at the lower levels. No one filmed the performance that I could see, so we behaved in that respect!

I have been in theatres where the upper decks are so far from the stage that you can't see faces, but I suppose the best way to describe this is, it's like being in an upside-down paper cup - you appear to be high but then you see it's Eddie and Jessie quite clearly. I have to say, I guess it's good they have an efficient air con system but it was blowing at me the whole time and it felt rather like attending a cabaret at the north pole. Jacket back on for Act 2! I think there's a line in the opening number that says 'It's winter outside' and I was thinking, inside as well, mate.

I don't think I missed being on the ground floor - I'd have been petrified the whole time they were going to pick me for that dance after the interval. I could just sit back and enjoy a great show. Never seen Cabaret before in any medium, didn't know the story, so it was all a new, fascinating and exciting experience. All the main actors were great of course but I think the audience particularly warmed to the tragic old couple - they got a huge cheer.

At £200 a ticket. A great night out for Self Obsessed Woke Ponces. This minority driven shambles, Is as tasteless as the 'gender neutralising' shithouse, and as far off source as a Lidl Christmas Pudding. If you enjoy an Emperors see through wardrobe, and rubbing, really up close and personally, with deviant poseurs and pretenders, this'll be right up your street. Without doubt a superspreader event, only not so sure on the viral implications. 2.2/10. See Me After School.

Just saw Amy Lennox as Sally a couple of days. Unsure how she compares as I never saw Jessie, but as well as Cabaret (which wholeheartedly deserved it’s minute long applause - was standing ovation worthy for me but no one else was.), I thought Mein Herr was a surprise sensation, so much grit and energy in it! Loved Fra’s childish take on Emcee which draws you enough for it to get creepy where it needs to be.

Forgive me....I had to wonder from your comments talking about Bavarian influences. I'm sure you know the musical takes place in Berlin which is hugely different than Munich....from a theater fan whose family is from Germany and who has lived in Germany. And a brand new fan of yours.

I saw the 1998 revival on Broadway with Alan Cumming as the Emcee. Excellent! It was in the former Studio 54 nightclub. The seating was small cocktail tables that sat four, with a little cocktail table light in the middle of the table.

Intriguing. Thanks for sharing. Not one of my top musicals but there are great songs in it.

I find it incredibly telling that out of the entire cast (including the prologue performers) you didn't mention Amaury Douglas as Clifford Bradshaw at all....

just can't get behind eddie redmayne as emcee. once again he defends taking on a role that represents a community he's not a part of. he initially defended playing a Trans woman in "the danish girl", and he only admitted it was a mistake when people brought it up after he accepted the role of emcee. very important to clarify that he never actually apologized (which would be empty given his unchanged behaviour). he also responded to people's desire to see a Queer person play this role as them "pidgeonholing" the character... as Queer??

this character has impacted so many Queer and Trans people which also means there is a very different impact with this casting. i resonated a lot with a medium article called 'Becoming the Emcee: Reflecting on Cabaret and Genderqueerness'
i don't care how good his performance is, i don't want to see cishet eddie get this opportunity before i FINALLY get to see a Trans emcee PLEASE

I went to go watch this production back in March - utterly incredible. My one draw back was my seat! Awful, awful seat! I didn’t have a lot of money so picked the cheapest seat (still £40+) and was sat right at the top, stage right. I would say we missed about 40% of the production from either the way it was staged or by constantly seeing the tops of their heads and nothing else. It was incredible but only once stuff was pretty central and with their heads held high! Cabaret was good because it was so still but we only saw the wig.. which was incredible haha! Wish I could go back and watch it again as it’s my favourite musical but the tickets are just too expensive ❤️‍🩹

Thank you MickeyJo really love your reviews. Again, doing binge catch up on your videos; saw this with Jessie Buckley (so incredible and the people I went with were, like you, dying to see her) and Eddy Redmayne and indeed one of my friends in the cast (who embodies Berlin's Kit Kat club outside of the show - he's a great guy!). This show was worth every penny of the (extremely high) ticket price. If you can take out a small mortgage go see it, even with a new cast.

Couldn't agree less about Buckley. The night I saw her she stuck out like a bludgeoned, bored and lazy am dram thumb. I had been excited to see her but every time she stepped on stage she sucked me out of the moment and took away from the magic the rest of the excellent cast and crew had created.

I applaud them for having the balls to put this on a lot of theaters companies would probably say heck no out at least over here on the American shores were this fox lives in Texas. There’s been a lot of vocal people trying to censor slash change history the last several years even becoming deniers. It disgust me so much.

Sadly I was a bit underwhelmed by this production. I think the hype raised my expectations that ultimately it couldn’t meet. The whole being in the Kit Kat Klub was a big fuss over nothing too. Fra Fee was a great emcee though. Have to say I much preferred the production with Will Young about 7-8 years ago which was much more creative and effective.
