AlphaTheta DDJ-GRV6 Review + Groove Circuit & Stems FX Demo

Ok. Please advise what you think would be the minimum MBP power to run all 4 tracks & features …… ie …… would a 2015 MBP 42/1 TB work ???

Great video, this drops at the same price point as the traktor s4 mk3 ... witch of the 2 do you think is better ??

Is the crossfader good? I mean is it easy to break? I'm thinking buying this for scratching 😁

My biggest gripe with dance music is usually when the first drop ends the song will go into an ambient section with vibey chords and synths etc before building into the 2nd drop. It sounds cool when listening at home but it's a complete energy killer in the club and I always find myself trying to mix into the next song before the first drop ends so as to avoid that ambient section. Being able to easily lay some drums under that section alone opens up so many mixing possiblities. Incredibly useful and not tacky like some of the features on the previous model. Definitely think I'm the target audience for this kind of controller

Today i tried this controller, but i really didnt like the very cheap plastic material, even felt this when i touched the jogwheel, additionally the small tempo fader and i dont know why they put the headphone knobs at the bottom..im a traktor user and recently started to think to switch to rekordbox but now i think its more better to buy an S4, way better built quality. Opinions?

That groove circuit thing and swapping out the drums.....
No self respecting DJ playing tunes they respect will ever touch that. Casio keyboard from the 80's feature.
Maybe there's something to be had with the capture but at the end of the day....just spin the tunes well. They should already speak for themselves.

This supposed to be the flx6 successor?? It’s a no for me I’ll keep the 6!

It’s a revised version of the Flx 6 for the price buy a DDJ 800 way more outputs for the money.

My Roland dj808 could do this stuff easily with stems control and the built in or custom drums. And way more flexible. Not sure if groove circuit is that innovative 👎🏼

Hi everyone,
I was excited about the new Groove Circuit feature when I installed the new Rekordbox 7.04 version. I even prepared a template for handling it in TouchOSC, happy that I could now mix and use my own loops. To my surprise, when I connected the FLX 10 to the computer, the application blocked the Groove Circuit option. There’s not even a way to connect another controller to control the MIDI functions. Do you think this is a deliberate move to make us buy a new controller? I recently bought the FLX 10, so switching again isn’t really an option for me right now.
Does anyone have a solution for this, or do we just have to wait for the next update…?

Dearest @NativeInstruments and @AlphaTheta. Please may we have a new controller for Traktor with CDJ size scratch jog dials? My personal preference would be 2 channel, pads for hot cues, toggles for Traktor's stems and balanced output. Thank you.

Does this Controller work at all with VirtualDJ instead of Serato/Rekordbox?

groove circuit is awesome. i love doing my own breakdowns and have been using the stems on flx-10 to do something similar. would have been a hit if they fixed the real issues with build such as the outputs. Oh well its a nice bedroom hobby piece

When will they start releasing hardware with big tempo sliders???! there is enough space for it but they just refuse to do it. I wouldn't buy this just get more money and get smth that has better tempo sliders

What i love most about this controller is that i no lobger have to worry about electrical outlet. Get me a power speaker that have usb, use a usb bank and give power to both my laptop and this. There you go. 8 hours stress free djijg at a park. Yes, ill take it

Another controller with short tempo faders, I guess they expect most people will use sync, it's just annoying to see when there's plenty of room to have full size faders. Other than that, this looks like another nice piece of kit from Pioneer.

Hi, does the GRV6 work with rekordbox 6 software or only with rekordbox 7?

Do you not need a subscription to access the effects?

Can you apply the Color FX and/or the effects strip on the stems like you can with the FLX10?

Alpha theta have lowered the quality of pioneer gear. Creating toys rather than high quality dj gear. I hope they leave the club gear alone

Is the pioneer ddj grv-6 compatible with iDJay and Virtual DJ software as well? Also, because this is rekordbox controller does it also work with rekordbox mobile like the pioneer DDJ flx-4?

A sorry state indeed. What is that company doing? The FLX 6, opus, duo, now this?
The look of the controllers are looking more and more sterile. No grades or increments. Tiny tempo faders. Soon there will be no nomenclature at all.
Just mono colored blank buttons. Non colored pads above the jogs, where you might touch the jog while playing a track and trying to hit a pad. Opps!
No, this holds no interest at all for me. Give me a RZ or SZ2, RZX or even an SX2 or 3.
How about an upgrade with the RZX or XDJ - XZ?
Anyway, great review as always, but this toy is not for me.

Stickers? In 2024? Really? Come on, Pioneer. They could have came up with something a bit more elegant at scale than to use stickers. Magnetic faceplates, for example.

This is an amazing controller i don't understand the hate. Yes it ain't got xlr or any external mixing capeabilites but what it dose it dose great. It mimics the club players amazingly and will defiently prepare you for the clubs. It might even be better than the flx 10 in that aspect. It aldo got great stem support in serato and in rekordbox it got that really cool drum sample. Been waiting for a while to buy a beginners dj board but always saw the flx 4 and 6 as cheap crap that i would feel very limited on. So for me im absoulutle thrilled about this board. Only thing that might potentialy stop me from buying is if NI was to realese a newer more refined controller line up.

At that price point, you would expect at least RGB on the pads.

I swear every new pioneer/at controller has a random hodge podge of gimmicks tossed at it that no other controller has or will have
