Ответитьthank you! new to the 5e version of the game and finding information on spending HD, short and long rests was hard for me to find
ОтветитьHow much hit dice can you spend
ОтветитьAlso can you spend hit die at any time
ОтветитьAslo one last question so letd say if my character level is level 4 then i will have four hit dice then if i level up do i roll the dice 4 times and add my constitution modifier..?
ОтветитьThank you I am new to d and d and it was very helpful
ОтветитьThank you very much! This was very helpful in creating my character
ОтветитьThanks, this really explained it <3
ОтветитьThank you thank you THANK YOU!!! I have been trying to find the answer to how this works (mostly WHAT DICE are used but how many is also very important) and I couldn’t find any information that effectively explained it! thank you so much! I’m starting my very first campaign soon and this is a life saver (haha get it?) thank you so very much
ОтветитьRandom but what is that tavern map from?
Ответитьblaze it
ОтветитьThis is how it should be taught so many tutorials don't demo the rolls and stick in the canon of the character sheets when new players are struggling with what 1d6+2 even means
Ответитьthanks for explaining that.. damn I couldn't understand why DnD didn't a spend a little more time explaining that in the Players Handbook! You did it in simple great video.. thanks mate!
ОтветитьI am starting my D&D campaign, and using your video has really improved my knowledge of this game. Although I am a young beginner, I am desperate to be in perfect condition for my next few tournaments.
ОтветитьWhy not spend all of my hit dice to gain hit points? Could I otherwise spend hit dice on something else?
ОтветитьSuper super clear now! Thank you!
ОтветитьWho disliked this I was a very good video
ОтветитьGreat work mate, I've been totally stumped whenever the DM brings up hit-dice, so this is a massive help!
ОтветитьYour hat is dope.
Ответитьfor each roll of the hit dice during a short rest, how much time goes by? Is it 1 hour per roll or as many times as you want up to the character's level until the max hit points are achieved?
Ответитьso, the short rest its SO POWERFUL , you can take a short rest at lv 10 char and heal 10 dices , then gets to fight and when the fight over , take another short rest and heal another 10 dices ????? why you need a long rest?
ОтветитьFormula:
Single class:
(Lvl x Hit Dice) + CON Modifier
= Total Points Healed
Multi-class:
(Class1 Lvl x Hit Dice) + CON Modifier
(Class2 Lvl x Hit Dice) + CON Modifier
= Total Points Healed
But when do you use hit dice? I still dont get it......
ОтветитьThank you, explained it very well!
ОтветитьThanks a lot!
Ответитьthe rubbing of insect wings
ОтветитьThis was super helpful, thank you for the help 👍
ОтветитьBig help! Yesterday my bro had to roll his hit dice but he didn’t understand it (we’re first time players and the DM had already moved on). This video was a big help!
ОтветитьTHANK YOU SO MUCH
ОтветитьDo you lose the hit dice and have to long rest to make them usable again?
ОтветитьWhen a hit die is spent (which is during a short rest) & one doesn’t do a long rest, does that mean they’ll be short the amount of hit die/dice they’ve spent during combat?
For example: PC has leveled up to using 3d8 dice during combat. They do a short rest & spend 2d8... if they don’t do a long rest & enter combat again do they now roll 1d8 until they’ve taken a long rest before getting the 2d8 spent back?
Also, if that’s the case, what happens when a PC is level 1, spends a hit die on a short rest then engages in combat before a long rest? 🤔
ОтветитьThis is another great video!
I have it homebrewed where players can also use their hit dice as extra damage (1 at a time) in combat, like a second-wind. However, they don't replenish until a long rest and at dawn.
It's a fun risk and encourages them to drink those dumb healing potions :D
So the number you roll with the hit dice plus the constitution modifier for your character is how much damage your attack does?
Ответитьnice video length
ОтветитьWizards over here with their +3 intelligence wondering what they can do with their hit dice during a short rest.
(D4 is missing from the video)
Thank you for making it clear to understand.
ОтветитьYou get extra hit points back during a short rest if you have a level 2+ Bard around using their Song of Rest ability.
Also note, you get all your hit points back after a long rest, and you get up to half of your unused hit dice back. So, you do have to "manage" your hit dice.
These are great and helpful vids, thanks.
One thing I don't get about this rule is how is this supposed to work if you're trying to apply some basic reality to the game? Oh, gee that arrow that punched into your chest? No worries. Rest and hour, spend a 'magical' hit die and you're all better! What? I feel like this is too generous and makes the healer classes much less relevant.
For the DM's out there, how do you justify this rule in game play?
Thank you for the short, concise and awesome explanation!
ОтветитьOh man... that hat. >_<
ОтветитьBut do Wizards, illusionists, clerics, and Magic Users use Percentile dice?
Ответитьgreat vid! so just to clarify you can only spend a hit dice on a short rest?
ОтветитьGreat video
ОтветитьThank you! This video is so well done! Great explanation! I finally understand! This was really helpful, thank you!
ОтветитьThanks for the clear explanation and examples of using hit dice. Your suggestion on when to spend hit dice to conserve healing spells is very helpful.
Ответитьbest hit dice tutorial ever just says how it is and in a easy way
ОтветитьThanks for the help for a noob D&D player! I'm going to my first campaign tomorrow, and binging your video is lifesaving!
