I think the problem is that Muslims are not interested in peace. Look what happened with Anwar Sadat. Reading some of the comments below, I do believe a detailed history of the world, going back to ancient times, which states all the facts, needs to be taught in schools. Clearly, there are a lot of people who also don't know how to use a library to look up old newspaper articles, as well. No, he’s got the history wrong. I love Bill Maher but this was stupid. When Mexico had more land in North America for instance it was based on Spanish colonialism which was way over-extended (there was little Spanish population in those areas) in what is now South America and which wiped out countless Native American cultures. He’s basically arguing for the same sort of genocide here. I don’t think the situation in Israel can be understood as simply as he makes out. As a Korean, I would have to ask whether he was in favor of the Japanese occupation of my country in the early 20th century — so the Koreans should have just faced the facts? This was a garbagy opinion ed. And despite what I’m seeing in this comments stream, it’s not true — he has the history all wrong (Israel was a creation of Britain for instance with the Balfour declaration), not to mention the “river to the sea” bit which is a rallying cry for radicals, not for the average Palestinian. The deal which Israel tried with Clinton at Camp David was a travesty. No, you do need to read the history here. Sound bites won’t do it.

The flaw in all of this is that it's not actually the history, is not accurate at all and this is full of the same double standards that exist in the minds of every idiot that serves the interests of the zionist regime.
You say from the river to the sea is stupid and offensive? What about when Israel says it? That's ok, right? Same when Israel teaches it's children to hate every Arab that exists and that everyone of them is a threat? When Israel says there will never be a state of Palestine that's ok right?
On and and on and on. So what this really comes down to is that the side of empire and settler colonialism are justified and you want to dismiss the right of the colonized to respond to what is happening to them.
It's curious how these standards only apply to certain groups ever, right? So the ethnic cleansing and genocide that happened during the Holocaust were wrong and that should never have happened. We would look back in horror of anyone who said then that people needed to just get over it and move on, that that's life. But now, with Palestinians that is not true. They just need to accept genocide and ultimately they are to blame for resisting someone taking over their land. If Ukraine resists Russia well that's great, the US will even fund it. Russia claims it's their land and wants to take it but that's just appalling. But when it comes to brown people (oh and Muslim brown people on top of it) well they just need to deal with it.
Also your history lesson excludes the fact that Jews were living peacefully in Palestine and other Arab nations prior to Israel (the fact that they no longer live there is a real gotcha moment except for the fact that they stole land for Jews and Jews alone to live on, and people went there from other places), and the zionists actually were commiting terrorist acts in order to bring about their Jewish homeland (before and after WW2 btw), they even went so far as to take weapons from the Nazis to go fight in Palestine, agreeing on the necessity for Jews to leave Europe (the zionists agreed they didn't belong there) and convincing the Germans that the solution was to arm them to take over Palestine (fun fact, that was actually one of a few different countries that they were thinking about as their homeland, they settled on there because they felt it would be the easiest to take).
Oh yeah and you also forget to mention the crazed idea of greater Israel where they aren't even content to stay from the river to the sea but want to take over practically the entire middle east. But I suppose that would be fine with an outspoken Islamaphobe such as yourself anyways since you clearly hate Arabs
