Newbie. I was a little confused when you explained what you need to do when the conductor comes by. You mentioned showing your "Eurrail"+your paper ticket .... is "Eurail " your phone with the button turned on or something else?

Going to Italy in 3 months and I was about to get eurorail. Thanks for the headsup. I was going to get the 6 day special while im there for two weeks cause im only traveling from city to city for 6 days. Do the tickets on the apps need to be validated or no?

Eurail is the cheapest option to travel especially for youths, but the real price is figuring out how to use the damn app haha

There used to be a sleeper train but it was cancelled during Covid and Renfe won’t restart it

This is FANTASTIC, thank you for making this. A few Questions: : do you have a video on how to use EURAIL with another person (wife in my case) and have both persons' trips and passes on one phone? EUrail app duplicated the trip for my wife, but do I need to repeat everything in your "how to get your QR code steps" ? Do I need to populate everything twice (each train and reservation)? Finally, do you move that slider bar and turn your ticket "on" when it turns yellow to activate the ticket, do you turn it yellow days ahead of time or just before you leave? Do you need wifi or cell service to do all the steps you discussed to create the QR code? Thank you !!!

this is helpful. pretty surprised at how bad EU Rail Pass and the system around it is...to think someone was paid to make this garbage app. So there's a website and app - neither sync with each other...you can't share your trip with a companion...no customer support. and if I understood this video right, you can't make a reservation on the app or website? gobsmacked..

Everything refers to a confirmation email wherein you should receive a 6 digit Rider Pass Code. So bizarre. I've gotten no confirmation email only a Welcome email with no Rider Pass Code.
While your video answers some other questions, I'm still stuck without a clue how to proceed. Hopefully, I'll find a video where they actually do a step by step.
Oh, and the workers at the Barcelona Station will not help whatsoever, so talking to someone there isn't not an option.

Thanks for the comprehensive video and great info. Just wanted to note for future viewers that I believe the info re: reservations not being available online via the Eurail website is now out of date. I was able to easily book reservations directly on their site in May 2023.

Thank you very much for sharing. You gave important info. We are travelling for family holiday from Far East Asia and taking the Eurail ticket -- by train this ticket and good to know.

What if you lived on the US how do we supposed to reserve at a train station? I would love to reserve everything before we travel overseas. On the app says 40 per seat and thats what the website actually charge for the seat. Can you explain a little bit more on it please?

Have made reservations online without any issues. I recommend at least trying before you use a lot of time at the train station.

Can my pass be activated weeks before my first travel day? is that how you are able to book thee actual tickets and see that QR code? I have my eurail pass, but I haven't activated it yet

Hi Cris, thank you so much for your very informative video. Actually this is my first time to see Europe and first time to use eurail global pass. Some part of the functions in the rail planer apps i can follow but since we are four of us in this trip i was trying to do seat reservations for all of us and try to add additional traveler. This part is quite confusing for me when i try to add a traveler it will give me different time spot. Can you please give me some tip on how to do it. thanks, Ed from California

hi christina, im trying to go to berlin from amsterdam in may. the app says no booking required however its recommended to i'm torn whether i should book it or not. its a 6 hr trip so i really do not want to stand or sit on the floor for the trip. hope to hear!

So I just bought the pass today, and I find it ridiculous that I can not get from France to Lisbon. Do you know if I travel a bit west to another major French city that I could then get to Lisbon . I will be in Arles France needing to go to Lisbon.

Do you know if, EC, IC, ICE and RJ have compulsory seat reservations or not? The Austrian national rail company, OEBB, shows reservations are not necessary. However, they are high-speed trains.

have you had an instance where it says seat reservation required but you don't book a seat reservation? can you still get on the train without booking a seat reservation? I assume you can risk fines but wondering if there's a way not to purchase the "seat required" pass, and then buying it on the phone if you notice there's a conductor checking?

Renting a car is better for traveling Europe. It's more reliable. Trains involve multiple transfers. They're frequently delayed and result in missing transfers. Trains schedules and transfers are confusing and frustrating. Driving from place to place yourself is less frustrating than having to rely on trains.

Can you go to any station to make a reservation or just the station that the actual train is departing from?

Don't you book tickets online, but using the euro/interracial ticket as a discount/travel card?

Hi Cristina, thank for your video. But I am really frustrated with this app. I added the passes to the app for my wife, my two adult children and myself. I can't still figure out how to book a train! I do like you said but I doesn't show me a ticket or a way to buy the reservations! I used apps before but this one got me, I did reserved and paid a train from Milano to Monaco a couple of days ago in the website but I haven't got a confirmation email or nothing yet! What am I doing wrong????

Hello Cristina, I am going to Europe in January and recently purchased a 5 day pass. I have the days book along with the train routes. Several of them say I need a reservation, but after watching your video it seems like I will not be able to book my reservation. my concern here is you stated to go several days ahead of time, but I am only staying in each country for 2 days. Would one station be able to do my reservations for all countries or do I need to do it at each location the train will be leaving out of?

I'm trying to figure out if Eurail even goes to Benidorm, Spain. I thought most cities had train stations. It doesn't come up on the website. Will it come up if I buy a pass and get the app. How impossibly frustrating if you can't even see exactly what destination, times and routes there are before you buy the pass. Makes no sense to me.

Thanks so much for your video. Their faulty information and apparent failure to keep their routes updated and coordinated with the train service providers probably explains when they don't have any real customer service. Sounds like the whole Eurail is broken as a business if they are so bad.

eurail sucks looks like lol ...i found out that you can order "buy reservation only" on companies websites

Her advice for reservations is not accurate. I am going to Italy and I am using the app. When you want to book a reservation, click on more at the bottom of the app, then click on seat reservation. You will see a link for interrail, click on that and you will leave the app but be with in the app. When you then search for your destination. It is best to use this link in a browser because the controls at the bottom for the app interfere with the buttons on the page. Once you are on the site and you have created a trip, it will ask to add travelers, on the next page it ask you to add travelers with a mobile pass. This part is key because you will only pay the reservation fee and not the full ticket price. Getting on the train; you will need both your rail pass and your reservation ticket. I hope this helps.
