I'm a Canadian women that's been to Japan. I can honestly say I would never wear something like that there 😅 The people are so polite and willing to help you (Even if you're a guy because my male friends got help too) but they have dress standards there. Basically you can show leg but cover your chest. She looks like like she's going clubbing in the middle of the day so yeah they're gonna judge you and men will stare. It's just something in their society that they aren't used to but things are probably changing a bit with more foreigners being able to visit/stay more. And it isn't just about clothes. Japan's a very rule based society as it's part of their culture so I believe it's something that should be respected. You would only understand if you've been there honestly. There's many you should be weary of doing because it's seen as impolite and disrespectful, where as in our western world we have no structure and it's chaos 😂 It's easy for people to judge without understanding. When I went to Japan I felt safe, the streets were clean and people were helpful. I would 100% go back.

Japan is a very peaceful country. Yeah they are human and of course like and celebrate beauty especially a beautiful women but also they are more passive or shy about it all and not necessary in a weird way just in a polite way. Japanese men, women, people are very nice in general. When you are there if you ask a question politely most will help at a moments notice. The food is amazing, the nature is amazing, and people aren’t aggressive in general and it’s a very comfortable and welcoming place. Is it a perfect place? No but it is and they are a very high level of imperfect. Cheers to Japan I hope we can emulate you here in the US as there are many aspects we can learn, grow and become much better ambassadors to good will.

True, people here need to learn to be kind and share kindness without judgement. Especially helping the homeless or those in need. I lived here 20 yrs and mix japanese. japan is one of the lowest in donation countries. We never know what people are going through so kindness is key. Something i hope Japanese will start waking up too.
