I have this exact KB. Seems hard to find now so guessing the wheel wasn't as useful as anticipated.
It's a very nice keyboard but turns out I only used it for a couple days since as it was too wide for my workspace layout (I got a Redragon TKL KB instead).
So perfect Craft KB for sale!!
I am sorry that you haven't mentioned the active dial feedback - to be more precise the mode shift from "digital" (when controling the chrome tabs) to "analog" (when setting volume)... I love it!
ОтветитьJust bought it, love it, the keys are so easy to use, I type without ever looking at the keyboard and this makes it easy to type with the rounded circles on each key. I'm very happy with this purchase.
ОтветитьUgh, $200 non mechanical mostly plastic keyboard. No thx
Ответить10 minutes longer than necessary... More B-Roll than necessary.
ОтветитьWorst keyboard for the money. Not mechanical not electro capacitive its just membrane and they are still worse than NMB dome with slider and keycap isn’t thick and neither is Dye-Sub PBT nor DoubleShot ABS
I would buy Topre Realforce instead
Hi! May I know make and model of the desktop speaker, sir? Thanks!
ОтветитьJust got this keyboard today. Didn't even know all the options and typing on it is fantastic. As for the dial in Premiere, it's hella better than zooming and moving the mouse to get to that EXACT moment in the video you want to make a cut or insert text, so it's a total win for me just for that alone. And it's precise.
ОтветитьPretty disappointing :/
ОтветитьIn 2022, this keyboard now sells for $350
ОтветитьThorough!!
ОтветитьI bought the Craft keyboard some time ago. I'm a programmer. There are several things I really hate about this keyboard
1. The switch between the several connections (1,2,3 keys over the home button) are very annoying. I sometimes press them accidentally and then nothing works anymore. Very confusing in the beginning and now very annoying.
2. I really hate the top right button for locking your Windows session. I use the numerical keyboard very often including the + and - signs. The lock is so close to the minus sign that on a daily basis my system is locked several times because I tapped 1 key too high. I wish I could disable that.
3. The backlight is just not working very well. From time to time it just stops working at all. Have to pull the cable and turn the keyboard off and on for it to start working again. Also very often when my hands get near it does not turn on. Have to tap the crown to turn it on. Very annoying when lights are dim.
4. I use it mostly with the dongle and from time to time it just looses connection or keys get stuck in the down position and this causes the key last pressed just to go on forever messing up my code.
5. The software looks pretty but from time to time just really sucks. It gives me errors, gets stuck. One time had to reboot my system just to get it working again.
6. I hate the layout of the function keys. On many of the other keyboard I used, the function keys are grouped into 3 groups of 4 keys each. I knew the layout by hart and was able to find them blindly (f.i. F5 is used to build a solution is Visual Studio and was always easily spotted as the first key to the right of the first space between groups). The keys are no longer grouped and aligned evenly on the top row. That looks nice but it's a nightmare for me since I can no longer feel where the keys are and have to look every time. Stupid change if you ask me.
I do agree with you it is a quality build keyboard and it has a very nice touch to it. But the firmware and software really need to be looked at. And you programmers out there. It may look tempting but keep away from this keyboard if you are used to and familiar with standard layouts.
All in all. It's a pretty expensive keyboard but it has a lot of cons at the moment.
Are you aware of any other device you can pair with MAC OS to control things like this knob does?
ОтветитьLittle messed up that you advertise ANOTHER brand's keyboard on a keyboard review video
ОтветитьThank you Kate, really great review. One question, is the wheel has some extra functionality in Adobe XD program?
ОтветитьVery informative thanks
ОтветитьThis keybaord is amazing BUT.... Logitech and Adobe don't update software so YOU CANT USE THE CROWN in Premiere. I wish I would've known this before I bought it. Pointless now. LIKE to help others out. (Hopefully they fix this).
Ответитьso far with my experience the crown is way too sensitive and i wont even be touching the crown itself and the prompt will show up on screen constantly. very annoying
Ответитьcan u work while u charge the keyboard?
Ответитьso you cant turn off the (automatic) lighting?
Ответить1. The dial does NOT CONTROL EVERYTHING - Be aware of fraud review (No 3D design software will react to the dial-AutoCAD does not work with this)
2. Backlight can be turned off
3. If you want to know about this dial feature watch from half of this movie. I wasted my 10minutes watching someone tells me how great this keyboard is when it is nothing too different than other dell short heighted keyboards
This is the most overpriced product that I own, I would never have bought it if it wasn’t sponsored by my company. And even though it wasn’t me who paid, I still regret getting it. It should cost 10% of its price. And yeah, you will never use this dongle thing, trust me
ОтветитьTerrific design, but I couldn't boot my iMac into Recovery mode or into Diagnostics using the Craft keyboard. Also, my Batteries widget is unable to pick up the battery level and the Options app doesn't provide us with an indication of the battery level either.
ОтветитьThis is how it should be done:
You hover your mouse over any draggable parameter/slider, you scroll the wheel, parameter is changed.
You hover your mouse to the next parameter, scroll, change.
There are too many different parameters in any software. I want to precisely control every one of them not only one. And there is no need to have fucking Da Vinci panel with 100 billions of buttons and 555 thousands of trackballs for my lifetime salary. Just gimme one wheel that controls any slider. It is enough.
If we looking at Premiere, for example, there are about ~15-40 sliders only in Lumetri panel. And much more in other effects. And timeline. And sound levels. And separate timelines in Source and Program windows. Every program has a bunch of sliders and values to change.
__________
I do realise that there are software limitations. That Adobe probably didnt give a possibility to do what i suggest.
This is only my dream about perfect tool for my workflow. Dream that a not likely to come true.
Couldn't you do the same with the mouse scroll wheel?
ОтветитьI know this sounds really shallow, but I actually bought this keyboard based on its looks and how it would visually compliment my set up. It’s functionality is a bonus. It really is a beautiful piece of kit.
ОтветитьWhat monitor stand is that ?
ОтветитьMany thanks for this, great review.
Ответитьeven your mother?
Ответитьlov it
Ответитьi only changed the screen shot button to screen snip as i use that more
ОтветитьStopped watching when I saw the Microsoft Word functionality.
This is just ridiculous and insulting. Not just for designers, but for every living being that uses word.
Edit:
Got too curious and had to see the rest as well and I want to apologise and take back what I said above.
The dial is actually trash and useless.
premiere pro was pretty much the only program i would be using this for so this keyboard disapoints me
ОтветитьThis guy lost some weight
ОтветитьI came from Japan! I use logcool's CRAFT. It's very convenient. The video was also very easy to understand. Thank you! Please come visit me on my channel. With love from Japan :)
ОтветитьCan you play games on this?
Ответить"for $200.." -violently proceeds to the next video
ОтветитьCan it switch a mouse, along with the keyboard at the same time using the dial? I cant use Logitech Flow since 1 of my PCs will have a VPN on.
ОтветитьI highly suggest that music
does not go above the voice level
It gets complicated
especially if seeing the video
around other people
especially when they are resting...
Can you program pause and next track on it not using the crown?? Thank you
ОтветитьI just got'em!!!!
ОтветитьI am sick and tired of mechanical keyboards. Mechanical and RGB need to die off.
Ответитьso.... if I'm hearing this correctly.... the dial is like a short key for your short keys.... got it.
ОтветитьYou can scientifically test speed difference vs a mechanical keyboard. It's called words typed per minute. I am sure some sort of app or website exists for testing just that. You can even type the same sentence.
ОтветитьCrown seems like such a gimmick.
Ответить"I cant scientiffically test the speed" Yes you can. Run a 1 minute clock and type a text on both keyboards. There are websites for this. Doesn´t really show the actuation speed but the real life example is much more valuable for the customer. Also i wonder if one could code the dial to just work on any slider you hover the mouse over that would be good. Great video. :D
Ответитьi bought it. it's a piece of garbage.
ОтветитьIs it possible to get something like this, this kind of switches, without the numpad, in a specifically TKL layout. (not so compressed as an apple magic keyboard, but just like this one, with numpad chopped off)
Ответить
