But forget the fact that because of the format really any team play another top team if at all to qualify, they mostly play teams outside the top 80 in the world (which is also btw how Ronaldo has scored more than Messi, even Venezuela would finish top 3 in an European group) also most Conmebol teams having qualified doesn't make the qualifiers easier, but harder. It's 10 teams of which any could basically beat anyone, and even Argentina and Brazil have had shaky qualifiers from time to time and most victories are Stoll hardly contested encounters
