Watching this live I just had a feeling something special might happen as the US runners were bunched near the lead pack just biding their time waiting to strike. They let the Kenyans fade away & then made their move. Absolutely thrilling to see.

A perfect "team race" Kessler, Nuguse and Hawker were running 6th, 5th and 4th going into the final bell lap.
Also, some luck because Inge was only looking at Kessler at the end, that's when Hawker slipped through and exploded.
Nuguse was also coming in strong.
