Very well done. That boat has most likely been in some kind of charter and not properly taken care of.
ОтветитьHappy2 is crap u dont know what ur talking about lol
ОтветитьBy blurring the registration number and really low phishy engine hrs for an old boat, it could very well be, there is no boat to buy. The photos can have been taken off from a random boat at a dock, browsed thru internet and a ghost boat put on a marketplace. Once the deposit is made, unless on an escrow account the add and the person vanishes into thin air with the money.
ОтветитьIt would be nice if you could tell me what a good sailboat is. By organizing, you just tell what is bad. Live buy it it sucks. Now put someone you think is great. I have come to the conclusion after looking at your pages that Europeans are junk and I believe that you praise Americans Sailboats are great, am I right? These videos of mine smell so much like that model..
Ответитьmy biggest question about this whole lifestyle is more about how to make money while living on a boat. I want to do it now, not wait till retirement when i cant. but im not fabulously wealth at all. Do you boat cruiser types usually own businesses on the mainland that have management and staff and can take care of themselves? Or something like a small realestate empire feeding your bank account passive income? Im really trying to figure this out because i feel the waters call, i need to go soon or not at all!
ОтветитьStarting to look around for my first sailboat...do you do video consultations? 😂 But seriously 😬...
ОтветитьGreat review, it’s universal, if it sounds too good to be true it probably is.
ОтветитьBud i love you and your videos, but its cabo "ROW-HO!" not Row-Joe!😂
ОтветитьBuy a cat 2 foot draught
ОтветитьSuperb! I bought my first boat, an old 25ft Westerly, for under $10,000. Biggest mistake was having an outboard engine; you can't store gasoline on deck safely and easily and starting it was often a nightmare when single handed. Plus rigging; mine was rotten and cost me more than the boat to get fixed for offshore sailing. Get a pro inspection every time, it's another pair of eyes.
ОтветитьI would not have been interested with the seven foot keel, for what I want but that should have been seen in the listing. Why not stainless steel bolts keel bolts, built like that? You think no zinc or broke the keel? Interesting, thanks.
ОтветитьI don't have any experience with sailing, but in the next two to three years I want to buy a boat that desperately needs repairs and fix it up myself. I know it would be very hard, but I don't think it would be impossible. Do you think it would be a good move for a total beginner?
ОтветитьI got a survey and the boat was still a lemon. I'll do my own inspections from now on.
ОтветитьMore red flags than a European football match. Did it ever sell?
ОтветитьHi I tell you the history of the sailboat in Puerto Rico 🇵🇷 that sailboat went damech havy in huracán Maria I find the duck
ОтветитьCan you tell me about the fast passage 39’ 1986
ОтветитьI think this boat started life as part of a charter fleet, (bow damage due to careless charterers who slammed anchor and chain) then sold to a private party who knew little about boats but seduced by "the sailing lifestyle" , and eventually landed in a disinterested broker's yard. The black paint on the keel bolts remind me of the young woman who put black tape to cover the red led light on her car's dash panel that signifies an overheated engine. Rebedding the keel by a professional yard my guess would cost $5-$10,000. Plus all the other issues shown I would venture that a bottom job, plus the standing rigging, head, hoses, also need replacement, a fair as is price would be $15-18K.
ОтветитьWow seeing those keel bolts keeps me up at night, and I don't even own the boat, or plan to buy it, plan to sail on it, or even desire to see it in person. The hair on the back of my neck is totally upright.
ОтветитьYou really seem to have it in for the French boats.
ОтветитьI don't know anything about boats, just interested in the concept of sailing on the ocean, and I really enjoyed listening to all the reasons to not buy this boat. Eventually someone will buy it though.
ОтветитьThere are more crooks than honest people in the Boat Business .... If you sit on my PEG LEG..... I'll tell you a tale of the salty sea...
ОтветитьAnd when the boat is at the dock and the wind and waves are from the stern, the waves slap and slap and slap and slap and....
ОтветитьThank you so much for absolutely great informative video !! Very well done !! I would love to hire you to do survay for boat I want to buy in near future.
ОтветитьI wish I'd seen this before I bought my 29' sloop... she needs a lot of work in the rigging and electronics... oy. Still, I love my little boat 😂
ОтветитьAnother great video sharing lots of useful information. Thank you.
ОтветитьThat keel is 25k min as it's a major refit boat hit reef guarantee the bolts rusted ready to fail
ОтветитьThanks Russell Crowe!
ОтветитьNice video for rich people
ОтветитьCan we talk more realistic regarding pricing, for people with leaner wallet
ОтветитьI think bolted on keels are in general are a very bad idea. Every boat is generally suited to different demands. Beneteau seems to focus on massive, gorgeous interiors and luxurious appointments, BUT many would not trust in blue water and a blow.
ОтветитьAlways good advice.
ОтветитьGreat work
ОтветитьMy boat had a bunch of the same red flags, luckily I was able to talk it down to $20k. Unfortunately, I have had a lot of work to do, but fortunately I can do all the work myself. From engine work, to electrical to plumbing, fiberglass, woodwork and gelcoat repair. For most it's a monumental project, but I enjoy doing all the work myself. Lucky for me I didn't have the pleasure of the rusted keel bolts (prob from years of standing water in the bilge). I did notice a lot of growth on the bottom from the photos, I wonder the condition of the thru hulls and if there are even any zincs left on the bottom. I would say if the owner wasn't willing to come down to $25-$30k, then I would def run from a boat in that condition.
ОтветитьScottish saying: "Happy is the man who does not own a boat."
ОтветитьOutstanding survey
ОтветитьNot surprised to see this very same boat is still for sale with a small reduction in price at 100K USD.
ОтветитьBoat looks like it was ridden hard and put away wet. Heavy wear and tear in the inside, very slapdash repair on the leaking ports. Lots and lots of headaches for a future owner. Thanks for identifying red flag items.
ОтветитьSounds like great information.
Ответитьmaybe the question is more why does it have keel bolts.
ОтветитьI thought I was going to be watching a video on what to look for when buying a boat. Duh the things not perfect when the price is 40 grand less than normal... This video was pointless to watch unless you have a few hundred grand to be throwing around....
ОтветитьNow it's listed for $100,000.
ОтветитьThanks for the clues
ОтветитьCabin leaks resulting in stains on the interior and rot in the wood. I'm buying a Freedom 25 which has both of those, but they're limited to two places, and I can deal with those. Otherwise, none of the red flags you point out apply. Paying $4K for it, which is competitive for boats that size in the Finger Lakes.
ОтветитьWe love your videos, keep making great content xx
ОтветитьHow long has the boat been in the market
ОтветитьTim slightly confused by your comment that Dacron sail good for 20 years.
Also, older Jenneau, before being told by French gov to join with Benateau , we’re all stick built without interior liner and solid hulls , very different construction.
Cheers Warren
I saw this boat being sold out of Fajardo Puerto Rico in 2021 with a bad engine which needed replacing, I guess that's why the engine looks so clean now.
ОтветитьGood video. Thank you!
