This is wonderful. Unfortunately, when I was born, the majority of humans born in 1879 were already dead. I wish I was born in the 60s-that way, I would have met an individual born in the 1870s and 1880s.

I love how a sailor convinced her to get in the lifeboat by tossing her toy pig in first. Good thinking. Saved her life.

I am a true blue historical fanatic of what happened to and on the Titanic. What really I mean really gives me major Chills thinking about it is there is a book that eerily and accurately predicted what happened to the Titanic that came out about 50 years earlier about a fictious ship in the book callled.. get this.. the TITAN. The name of the book is the Wreck of the Titan.

When I was young I can remember meeting veterans of World War I. Nowadays that generation is all gone, as are the survivors of the Titanic. This should be a lesson to value your elders for the firsthand knowledge in life that they carry!

I've always heard stories of the band playing music as the ship went down so it's interesting to hear two eye witnesses here saying that isn't true. If you think about it it does sound awfully romantic and ridiculous.

It's so crazy to me hearing both of their stories from different classes of society period one at the time was only worried about luggage and the other 1 was worried about his life. At the end of the day they both were just glad they survived. Even the lady sounds like as she's telling the story she realizes how miniscule her luggage was compared to the situation that was happening around her that would forever change her life.

It is also crazy to me realizing now how accurately James Cameron got his movie hearing them talk about the band playing music. Even then playing with the ice on deck after the iceberg was hit.
